Embrace your inner child. Run in a meadow. Laugh at the sun. Follow the rainbow. Pee in your pants. Get angry at the color blue. Scream because circles should be squares. Believe in magic.

NEW: James Talarico, the Democratic Senate nominee in Texas, cited Pope Leo XIV, Pope Francis and Pope Benedict XVI at a CNN town hall in Fort Worth on Wednesday night and pledged to work with Catholics to reduce abortion and expand health care. While distancing himself from the provocative way he had said God is nonbinary, he pointed to Benedict, who taught that God is neither male nor female. A pro-life Catholic theology professor who challenged him on abortion came away “really impressed with him” and with his willingness to engage. thelettersfromleo.com/p/citi…

Dear friends, during some recent medical examinations, the doctors found a small, localized nodule in my lung. It was detected at a very early stage and is well-localized. The doctors believe that it is best to intervene, so, following their advice, I have decided to undergo surgery to remove it. The operation is already scheduled to take place in the coming days. I thank you for your spiritual closeness and entrust myself to your prayers.

The death penalty is inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person. The common good can be safeguarded and the requirements of justice can be met without recourse to capital punishment: effective systems of detention have been developed that protect citizens while at the same time do not completely deprive those who are guilty of the possibility of redemption. #NoDeathPenalty

In an age dominated by technology, in which efficiency and profit often take precedence, it is so important that we continue to cultivate a spirit of contemplation and allow time and space for beauty. Such an attitude will greatly help humanity, especially young people, to discover the ability of art to uplift and reveal the depths of the human spirit and our openness to the divine. Contemplation presents a marvelous opportunity to encounter the God who is Beauty.

In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

Invoking the name of God to legitimize violence or oppression constitutes a profanation of His name. Nothing that violates human dignity can claim authentic divine inspiration. Religious discourse must constantly call for hearts and words to be disarmed. #ApostolicJourney #France vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/e…

"The value of persons, however, does not depend on what they achieve or produce ... The fundamental dignity of each person, therefore, is neither acquired nor earned, nor does it need to be justified ... The dignity of every human person can be described as infinite." Pope Leo XIV: "Magnifica Humanitas."

“Dear migrants, before I say any other word to you, I want to bow before your dignity. “You are not numbers or case files. “You are people — with a family and a home left behind, with dreams that no one has the right to scorn.” — Pope Leo XIV

Hi. 😊 Swedish dude here. When our children get sick, we have 60 paid days per year to stay home with them. Per parent. They're separate from my 25 paid vacation days. Meaning I don't have to use my own paid sick leave. If I'm a single parent: 120 days. If my child has a chronic illness: 120 days If my child is hospitalized: unlimited days. These days reset every January. By law. every year until child is 18. Follow for more glimpses into life in a social democracy, where dignity is not a privilege. Peace ✌🏼

On September 11, 2001, firefighters carried the body of FDNY chaplain Fr. Mychal Judge to this altar, knelt before his remains, and prayed the words of St. Francis: “Lord, make me a channel of your peace.” Moments later, doctors and emergency workers took the parish’s altar cloths and linens outside to bandage the wounded and dying on the church steps. Catholics believe that on those linens, through God’s redeeming love, bread and wine become the body and blood of Christ. That morning, the same cloth went to heal the broken bodies of New York.

I was given my name by the Iroquois Nation many hundreds of years ago. By 1660 my name was printed on maps by the Europeans as they accepted the Native name which means Beautiful waters. In 1867 the Canadian government decided to use my name for their providence.

“The world does not need an artificial intelligence that diminishes humanity. “Rather, it needs human intelligence enlightened by wisdom, political authority guided by conscience, and technological innovation directed by charity. “Only then will artificial intelligence become not a rival to humanity, but a servant of the common good.” — Pope Leo XIV

From the Canaanite woman we learn humility and determination. Thanks to her faith, we learn that God’s table is set for everyone and that no one is left merely with crumbs, because each person has his or her own place with the Father. In the light of this faith, inequalities, discrimination and barriers that trample on the dignity of too many of God’s sons and daughters become unbearable. #GospelOfToday (Mt 15: 21-28)

“And whenever you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, so that they may be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward. But whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you" (Mt 6:5).
Rep. Lauren Boebert insists that public Christian worship events are necessary for America to experience revival: "I don't think that Jesus ever called for any Christian to pray only silently or to keep their faith hidden only in the prayer closet."
