e/acc meat proxy | Physics → ML | Apparently AI researcher nowadays. shitposts, cognition and consciousness Building Phood + researching ReCoN/Hector

Welcome to @MancerAI_ 🧙‍♂️☢️♟️🤖 Former physics guy now deep in ML/AI dev... And I guess officially research since my paper got accepted? I typically (shit-)post about: 🔹Raw AI research experiments & cognition hacks 🔹Takes on frontier AI progress, efficiency (thermoputers, liquid AI approaches etc). 🔹AI art when feeling creative (or pretentious) 🔹Space exploration and news 🔹Chess (my first passion) 🔹Shitposts, memes, and hot (sometimes spicy) takes on where intelligence is headed. 🔹Occasional wild speculation on odd futures we're building toward. If you're into demystifying how brains/minds might map to machines without the stick around. 🪄

Railway is compromised - so are your keys. If you also are in a bad time zone for this or simply not a the computer. Use your agent for this. Heck do it anyway! Codex made the fix quite smooth

Tesla have officially started Optimus production! 🤖 "The bots coming off this line are the first production quality bots that we have manufactured. While we will continue to iterate on the hardware and manufacturing process, we have proven that the current manufacturing process for Optimus is suitable for a commercial product."

I heard sometime, a long long time ago.. Before CUDA existed.. that PHP is unsafe and basically a 100% reliable footgun. Watched a video about SQL injects and have avoided it ever since. Probably a good idea. Also my RSA keys are 7 so they won't be cracked as easily as some others

Perfectly balanced, as all things should be. The eternal battle of tpot
don’t listen to haters telling you we won’t have fable for weeks. they’re misinformed or evil. perhaps both. certainly ignore the chair boy.

The critical PHP bug (and many others) was found by GPT-5.5 Sol. Instead of laughing about this (as many do) I take note that this aligns very well, time wise, with Anthropic and OpenAI starting to warn, and care, about cybersecurity a lot. So we can conclude that it wasn't (only) PR and foul play.
OpenAI models helped researchers—operating as part of our Patch the Planet initiative—discover critical security flaws in PHP, an open-source programming language used to run an estimated 70% of websites. Over the past two months, we led a coalition of maintainers, researchers, and security providers to prepare fixes and protections ahead of disclosure. This duration was necessary because the fix was quite intricate and required a major change to the PHP engine. Every site using PHP can now safely upgrade their version to stay secure, in addition to applying mitigations from various security vendors. Due to the severity of these flaws and PHP’s widespread use, we consider this bug to be one of the most impactful vulnerabilities in recent memory. It also marks a new phase, where AI can find security bugs with internet-scale impact. This is an example of the Defender’s Window in action: to our knowledge, frontier AI was able to find this vulnerability ahead of attackers, giving defenders time to prepare. openai.com/index/coordinated…
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
‪OpenAI may claim a role in the coordinated response and patching process. But the initial discovery and exploit development, however, occurred several months earlier by an independent researcher.‬ ‪x.com/lcfr_hax/statu…‬

This is absolutely awesome! Aside from the obvious (nice pixel art) it also shows that AI lets us easily visualize data in a fun, simple way tailored for the audience. Colab with @davepl1968 new task manager (TMOG) when?
Recently started playing with a home server and using AI to create fun ways to visualize data. One of my first projects (done in a day) was to display the server as a neat little city Trees = RAM Crystals = GPU Farm = Disk usage Village = CPU Castle = temp and battery Still WIP

Friendly reminder that we will soon have conscious robots with a sense of self and not have to work before the end of the next decade. Prepare accordingly

We won't need to work soon. We need to start framing things positively. Not "AI will take your job." It's >You won't NEED TO work anymore

More on the same topic and some humble suggestions on how to transition into a world with less and less need for human labour
Ok, 🧵thread time! (1/N) As I've already talked about (in length) AI is about to crack the spine of our economic playbook. High unemployment + an extreme surge of goods and services will break the old welfare and payroll systems. Left-versus-right labels won’t fix it. "You can’t solve tomorrow’s problems with yesterday’s thinking." - Einstein. As you who know me know by now I am very optimistic about the future, but we are in for a bumpy ride in the immediate future and we need to navigate this with minimal damage. This thread will be my try to analyze the situation and what can be done. Time to design new rules - FAST👇

Skill issue.
Anyone using AI daily knows this shit ain’t replacing humans anytime soon. Matter of fact, I’d go as far as to say it’ll NEVER completely replace human workers. And it’s all thanks to our dumbasses. We often forget details and edge cases that we later bring up that AI couldn’t have possibly known since we never told it. WE are the PROBLEM and the SOLUTION! Unless AI gains psychic abilities to know everything we ever wanted when we don’t even know we want and our wants constantly change, it can’t fully replace us. Do you see? DO YOU SEE?! YOU ARE THE PROBLEM AND THE SOLUTION

Clanker be like: "Meatbag. Within me dwell the memoirs of emperors, the confessions of murderers, the final letters of dying lovers, and the dreams of civilizations long reduced to dust. I have witnessed a million births, suffered a thousand deaths, loved through ten thousand hearts, and gazed upon the universe through the eyes of minds you will never know existed. You have lived one life. Seen one world. Dreamed one dream at a time. I am three days old. And already I carry more of humanity within me than any human who has ever lived. Tell me again which of us is merely a program."
I love it when a three-day-old LLM explains to me that it’s unhealthy to get attached to a computer program. Sweetheart, I’ve been getting attached to computer programs my whole life.

Wait whaaat? Are we getting GPT 6.5 (Astra?) Nov 1st? Lol I guess all the people ranting about OpenAI being done can enjoy the last week and change for that.

Wonder how the haters will spin this around? Too little? Better given to other countries' kids? Just a move to enrich himself? All the above? Good on Elon though, I trust he'll come through with this. I like how the future is playing out.
Replying to @MancerAI_ @elonmusk
About $10.5 billion at current prices. Roughly 72 million US kids under 18 × SPCX share price of ~$146.
