The short form wasn’t his specialty and his time with the franchise was brief (and not one he looks back at fondly) but Jimmy is one of the all time greats. England and now Lancashire, could and should have done this differently. He deserves the utmost respect and so much better.

This is great news for the Super Giants. After all the upheaval and uncertainty of 26, time to run it back in 27. We have a trophy to defend!

Kate Cross was the original Original. From the first night of The Hundred she became a hero to my daughter, with her six hitting and fine bowling! She was a great captain, she was lovely in person and she gave her all. We have got used to missing her, now we will miss her more!
Thank you, Crossy! ❤️ Lancashire and England bowler Kate Cross has announced that she will retire from professional cricket at the end of the 2026 season, aged 34.

Kathryn Bryce is an extremely talented and very underrated cricketer. When decisions about retentions are being made, I very much hope that she is one of the first names pencilled in for a return.
A second Blaze century for Kathryn Bryce coming in brilliant fashion. #BLAvDUR #FiredUp 🔥

Great to see Josh Tongue in amongst the wickets. He looked in great shape, full of confidence and was still clocking 90mph into his tenth over. The reality of the schedule is that quick turnarounds between formats is now part of the game. It is absolutely possible!

Lots of great moments and wonderful memories. Good luck to all the Super Giants in the weeks and months ahead. We will continue to follow you around the globe and hope to welcome as many of you as possible back in 2027. We have a trophy 🏆 to defend and a culture to build!
Never ever forgetting these scenes at Lord's 😍

Time and again the batting line up fired. Walter was a revelation at the top of the order, but there were crucial contributions from all. So pleased that Klaasen came through in the eliminator and Du Plooy got his chance in the final. It wasn’t just about Tim and Jos!
Time for some fireworks with the bat 🔥

It is true that batters win games but bowlers win tournaments. Tongue, Baker and Atkinson were all outstanding throughout. Dawson brought a competitive edge and Noor stepped up when it mattered most. With a bowling attack this good you always have a chance.

A word for the outstanding performance of Tim Seifert. We went into the auction with a Phil Salt hole at the top of the order. We needed someone who could bring intent from ball one, who could clear the ropes, who could set the tone. Seifert was absolutely magnificent throughout.

A special mention for the skipper. Jos Buttler has performed at the very highest level for over a decade. He has represented Manchester with quality and class in The Hundred from day one. So pleased he got to lift the trophy and start the Super Giant era with the win.

An amazing end to a fantastic tournament. Congratulations to everyone that played their part! We put together a great squad at the auction and it all came together brilliantly when it mattered most. Lots of people should be feeling very proud of their contribution this morning.
Adding another glorious chapter to Manchester's rich sporting heritage ❤️💙

I constantly hear on this platform what a terrible thing The Hundred is, but my personal experience is that it is a brilliant tournament. The quality of the teams this year has gone up a notch and there has been some great cricket to watch.
Manchester Super Giants are into The Hundred men's final at Lord's! 🔥 Super Giants beat SunRisers by 20 runs 🏏

I know it isn’t for everyone, I appreciate there are issues with the format and the schedule, I wish it hadn’t caused the division it has, I respect all other formats and opinions, but the best players in the world are playing on these shores and producing some fabulous stuff.

There is something incredibly likeable about this team! Jos leading from the front, the power in the batting, the pace and variety of the attack, Sonny’s infectious enthusiasm, tall Paul the cult hero…. It has come together perfectly. Can we finish it on Sunday?
#TheHundredFinal bound 🛣️ Manchester Super Giants will face Trent Rockets at Lord's on Sunday 🗓️

An absolutely fantastic performance in the field sees us into the final. Josh Tongue was the star, but the whole bowling attack deserve all the credit in the world and the catch from Du Plooy was magnificent. The Super Giants are heading to Lords!!

Whatever happens, it was great to see Heinrich Klaasen back at his best and Paul Walter was once again absolutely terrific. Can we find a way?
Cometh the hour, cometh the Walter-Klaasen show 😍

Sunrisers Leeds on Friday night at The Oval in the Eliminator. Let’s call it the best of 3, winner stays on. Come on the Super Giants!
The Super Giants are going to the eliminator! ❤️💙🚀

With the season ending for our women, it is a good time to reflect on the positives and to consider what we need to do to finally make it to the knockout stages. There has been some signs of progress, but in truth we are still short of the likes of Sunrisers and Rockets.

Overall, some good signs but work still to be done. It was almost an entirely new team and that was never going to be easy. It will be interesting to see how the Super Giants stack up in 2027. Maybe that will be the year!?

It is going to be hard to add much domestic talent as teams look to retain their best players, but as others restructure one or two gems may become available. It is also important to target young, local players that can both grow and add a sense of identity,
