The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day, honours Residential School Survivors, those who never returned home, and the families and communities that continue to be impacted by the Residential School system.
Wearing orange recognizes and affirms that #EveryChildMatters, while encouraging meaningful conversations, learning, and most importantly, action.
A collection of classroom resources is available through the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation to support education, reflection, and action in schools and communities. Visit nctr.ca.

The federal Liberal government recently introduced Bill C-39, which would give the government new and expanded powers to intervene and shut down legal strikes.
No government should have sweeping power to decide when workers can exercise their fundamental right to strike.
ETFO calls on Members of Parliament to respect workers’ rights and amend Bill C-39 to ensure the right to strike is protected. TAKE ACTION at workerstogether.ca/repeal-10… #canlab #cdnpoli

Workers are Team Canada 🇨🇦 We’re fighting for Canada’s economic future and that means protecting workers’ economic security, too. We need the power to bargain for better wages, working conditions and job security. Protect our right to strike.

The right to strike is non-negotiable.
Employers already hold enormous power over jobs and investment. Workers balance that power through collective bargaining, including the right to strike.
@MarkJCarney , workers’ bargaining power is part of Canada’s national interest.
