Thrilled to share that our lab got a grant from @DPPSpain to develop new molecular strategies to treat #duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD)! Here's a short explanatory video below in Spanish, and a thread in English.
In this project, we will adapt the natural repertoire of SCR to develop new "targeted SCR" molecules to treat DMD: by inducing SCR on the dystrophin gene, these may rescue protein production in patients with nonsense mutations. We leverage molecular biodiversity for biomedicine!
