This👇 is now who @UKLabour are. They cannot be trusted with your children’s future.
And why I will be voting @TheGreenParty @ZackPolanski in all future elections.
@10DowningStreet @labourlewis @UKParliament @Ed_Miliband
It's now absolutely clear why @andyburnham took his opportunity to aggressively go after @ZackPolanski over @TheGreenParty's Zionism motion.
Today, we're expecting measures that could effectively rewrite how our children are taught in our schools. Measures aimed at sanitising a genocide, silencing criticism of Israel, and teaching our children that some atrocities are acceptable to condemn, while others must be treated with political caution.
Now add to that, the prospect of further drilling in the North Sea.
At a time when the climate crisis is accelerating, when we should be urgently moving away from fossil fuels and investing in a sustainable future, this government appears determined to take us backwards.
More extraction. More emissions. More protection for industries that have profited enormously from the destruction of our planet.
And who will live with the consequences? Our children.
This could be a really, really dark day in British history.
A day when our government effectively says:
Fuck your children. We don't care about their future. We'll sacrifice their planet, and we'll use their education as a political weapon to defend our own complicity in war crimes as we see fit.
To every MP, especially those sitting on the Labour benches, I want to ask something.
What the hell did you enter politics for?
Was it to serve the public? To defend human rights? To build a better future for the next generation?
Or was it to protect your political career, toe the party line and look the other way when your own government does the very things you once claimed to oppose?
Look at what's happened to the Republican Party in America. Politicians who once claimed to stand for democracy, decency and the rule of law have repeatedly abandoned those principles rather than stand up to their own leadership.
Don't let that happen here.
@RichardBurgon, @johnmcdonnellMP, @CliveLewisMP, @ApsanaBegumMP, @BellRibeiroAddy, @IanByrneMP, @NadiaWhittomeMP, @RachaelMaskell, @DawnButlerBrent, @KimJohnsonMP, and every other Labour MP who still believes in the principles that brought them into politics: this is the moment to stand up and be counted.

Reform are now third in the polls, behind the Tories. Behind the actual Tories. That's like losing a sprint to a bloke who's been declared clinically dead for two years.

Mink farming is coming to an end in Denmark! 🎉
Denmark was once the world's largest producer of mink fur. Every year, millions of mink endured a miserably short life in tiny cages before being cruelly killed for their fur. 💔

It’s a known that fascists and the far right are bad losers!

Flávio Bolsonaro wants Brazil’s election annulled because, he claims, Lula “changed the rules halfway through the game” by extending voting hours.
There’s just one rather inconvenient detail. Bolsonaro’s own campaign ALSO requested an extension!
His request covered specific areas, while Lula’s was nationwide, but both wanted voting hours extended.
Now, having lost by 4.4 million votes, he wants the result overturned over a measure his own campaign supported.
Quite extraordinary.

What an extraordinary night for democracy!
In Brazil, Lula has defeated the far right in a dramatic electoral comeback.
In Serbia, a student-led movement has toppled Vučić’s authoritarian government after nearly two years of protests.
Two countries, thousands of miles apart, have delivered enormous blows to the nationalist right.
A powerful reminder of what ordinary people can achieve when they organise and refuse to give up.
Next up, it’s America’s turn.

This is the scale of bushmeat poaching we are up against: Organised, widespread and inflicting plenty of pain ⬇️.
In a recent aerial and ground operation, an ambush led to the recovery of more than three motorbikes, more than 140 slain dik-dik and birds and hunting equipment. Community members helped too, providing intelligence that led to further investigations.
It’s a blow to the poachers, and it shows why we need rangers in wildlife areas and aerial surveillance to cover landscapes the size of small countries.
