thinking about bourdain’s episode in palestine today. CNN almost didn’t air it but he fought like hell to keep the episode and share their stories since mainstream media so rarely gave the opportunity to empathize with the every day of palestinians.

In 1817, Daniel Tompkins passed a law emancipating all Black NYers born before July 4 1799 as of July 4 1827. On July 4, 1827 slavery ended in New York State. Black NYers chose to celebrate the next day in order to avoid comment on the paradox of slavery & freedom in the US.

I am young and haven’t experienced many tragedies, but let me tell you – fear for the life of your loved one is the most terrifying and paralyzing emotion that Russia brought into my life, and the lives of tens of millions of Ukrainians. None of us will ever forget this emotion

Around 20 percent of #Irpin streets have been cleaned from debris already, just over a week after the city was liberated from Russian occupants. Hundreds of people volunteered to help.💔

This is Iryna before #Russia came to our land. She was learning makeup and had plans. She lived in Bucha. This is her hand with manicure on the graphic photo that many of you have seen. Russians killed Iryna and hundreds of humans like her. Just because they were Ukrainians.

The mass murder of Ukrainian civilians in Kyiv’s suburbs underscores that Ukraine is fighting for its survival — it also shows the awful, obvious truth about Russia’s true intensions in Ukraine.

So, talking to people in various parts of Ukraine today, the mood is— we have to win in 3 weeks so planting season is not delayed.

Something to keep an eye on. There is strange movement of buses in Kherson and Russia may be moving people in for rallies for propaganda videos and fake referendums like they did with Crimea.
❗️А вот и автобусы прут для массовки в Херсоне. Все у кого есть родные и знакомые донесите им информацию — враг готовит фейковые митинги и может крутить подставные ролики

You know why Ukrainians will win this war? Because they are united as never before. I will tell you about a huge effort of solidarity unfolding right now in the Ukrainian society, just one example. Let's start. We are in the Western Ukraine 🧵

Lots of Ukrainians here in the western part of the country talking about visiting the east and helping rebuild when this nightmare is over. If anything, I hope this war ends the psychological barriers between both. Ukraine will come out of this more united than ever.

While we are extremely grateful for the support we’ve been getting, we understand that other media outlets in Ukraine have been less lucky. That’s why our partners launched a new global fundraising campaign to help independent Ukrainian media. gofundme.com/f/keep-ukraines…

More protests against Putin's invasion of Ukraine erupted in Moscow this evening, after the Kremlin put out an ominous threat to anyone thinking of protesting. Mad respect to the courageous Russians willing to put their own safety on the line to defend the lives of Ukrainians.
