whenever i'm away from SF i idealize it: ocean sunsets, karl rolling through the presidio trees; fun, prosperous, kind, smart people. and yet, sometimes reality hits like a ton of bricks. how did we get so complacent that things like this happen on our literal doorstep?
There’s hundreds of young kids that live in Tenderloin. These kids see dead bodies practically every day and it’s not blurred when they see it. So if they see it and they stomach it I’m quite sure y’all adults who’s asking me to blur it out can stomach it too…

skydiving is as dangerous as taking the train in spain. sad day
At least 85 people this year died from Spanish train accidents, and likely it will grow to 100 at the end of this day Very tragic and this makes Spanish trains one of the most dangerous modes of transport now ~100x more dangerous than flying commercial ~40x more dangerous than non-Spanish trains And every trip is nopw as dangerous as jumping from a plane and skydiving Two highly deadly train accidents in one year, that's so extreme and unlikely that it makes it at as dangerous as flying one of the most deadly airlines in the world, the Nepalese Yeti Airlines that keeps crashing due to the mountainous terrain Pretty exceptional in a bad way

oh another niche hobby i partake on last year, after getting tired of making sourdough (it's a three day process and you have to baby sit it a lot), i ended up buying a zojirushi bread maker and boy it is fun it produces really nice sandwich bread, and it's dead simple
I started vibe baking my own bread With a bread maker it’s super easy. You just add a bunch of ingredients together and the machine does all the work. Mixing, kneading, baking, etc It’s literally a few minutes of work and then the rest is automated. That’s why I call it vibe baking It just requires patience as it takes 4 hours 😁 The good thing is that you can set a timer so you can literally have it start 4 hours before you wake up so you wake up to the smell of fresh bread 😍 It’s also fun to try different recipes. I want to make banana bread and sourdough next

Maybe the mac native Lightroom that I’ve been coding over the last week no longer makes sense
4 months ago: Where are all the vibe coded photoshops? Today: Entire Adobe suite clean-room ported to Rust

Gota love the Swiss system
I'm not a big fan of referendum but I must admit forcing citizens to vote on a tradeoff is a vast improvement over most political debates The Swiss voted for bigger pensions For it to pass, they must now explicitly vote again the higher taxes to fund it
