I’m a Jew. This isn’t antisemitic. But it is hilarious.
I’m sick to my stomach. I honestly never thought that I would witness such an antisemitic piece of American political propaganda in my lifetime. This is Nazi-Islamic antisemitism delivered against the Jewish collective in 2026 in the United States. By endorsing Abdel El-Sayed, the Democratic Party has crossed a threshold that signals a sickening decay of dangerous proportions to the American Jewish community. If this ad isn’t pulled with an explicit apology to the Jewish community, I will say Kaddish over my country of birth. I’m disgusted by what was once a great country. Voting Democratic is now like voting for the Nazi party. Anyone who rationalizes this ad as anything other than an Islamic-Nazi propaganda piece that scapegoats the collective Jew for cheap political currency has succumbed to antizionist brainwashing.

Big news. Woodside walks away from Greater Sunrise. Sells its 33% stake to Timor's state-owned oil and gas company Timor Gap for around $280 million AUD. Timor Gap will have full control of the asset after the sale. Some big questions looming now for Dili (and for Canberra)

Trump: We were in the midst of negotiating and a lot of stupid people said why aren’t you putting Russian sanctions— Collins: But you said you didn’t give anything for his release Trump: If I didn’t do that, you wouldn’t have him coming back. Collins: So you did give something. Trump: You don’t know anything. You’re fake news CNN. Collins: You’re saying you lifted the sanctions in exchange for his release? Trump: You don’t know what you’re talking about. You’re a low IQ person. You’re a dummy.

This week we released ‘Budget reboot’, our new Grattan report on Australia’s budget pressures, state finances, and the federation. While the report covers a lot of ground, most of the public reaction has focused on one proposal: raising the GST. 🧵

Sitting in a suburban cafe in Canberra. Three tables up a man in an army uniform chatting amiably with a couple of blokes in t-shirts and baseball caps. The subject: comparing the various books of Dave Grossman. What a city this is.

Jimmy Lai is 78 and his health is declining. He has spent nearly 6 years in solitary confinement. A 20-year sentence means he may never come home. Time is running out.

Kurt Vonnegut speaks of friction
Someone could probably write a book (if they haven’t already) about the cycle of technology productizing the removal of friction in the name of convenience only for us to discover that the friction was a load-bearing part of the social compact.
