Finally myth of #landbanking by housebuilders has been debunked by @CMAgovUK. I recall politicians of all colours making claims of land banking as far back as 2007 which the @HomeBuildersFed has always rebuked. Planning is the driver. It has also driven industry consolidation.
🏚️After a year-long investigation, the @CMAgovUK has published its report into the #HousingMarket - buff.ly/3wycojN. Key findings include: ➡️Planning system & under-resourced departments are barriers to housing delivery ➡️Home builders do not unnecessarily land bank and have to hold land due to the complexities of the planning system ➡️Recommendation for a single consumer code and statutory New Homes Ombudsman

234,400 homes were built in 2022/23 (with skills shortages & materials capacity constraints issues) & demand fell 25-30% since then, resulting in job losses & factory closures so building 300,000 homes per year will not happen until the end of the decade at least... #ukhousing
Q: How many homes does England really need to build? A: Not the conventional 300,000 a year; but between 421,000 and 529,000 per year, according to a new study featured in today's @FT ft.com/content/32846f68-52fd… (Graphic: Housing stock per 1,000 inhabitants aged 20+)

Additionally, note that in the buoyant 'race for space' housing market in 2021/22 & 2022/23, we were building 22% fewer than the 300,000 net additional homes target whilst there were skills & capacity shortages whilst... #ukhousing

Shame @eurosport 2 in the UK not showing @daveryding in Wengen as scheduled. Fortunately I still have the player on my phone and can cast it to my TV. But when I do that I lose the @EdDrake commentary for some reason. Anyone know how to cast with the English commentary?

We have had a weekly @Ocado delivery for the past 19 years since December 2004 with timely service but our 2023 Christmas order is now, after much chasing by us, and with no proactive communication from Ocado, 38 hours late so far. I am going to have to go to a supermarket!

Surprised to learn how low e-commerce adaption is with roofers. Order some lead online for collection from my local @ChandlersBS for collection. Turns out I was the first person ever to order online. That explains why I got a personal email confirming my order…
