ai leaders just get in front of a camera everyday and go "yo this shit fucking sucks everybody hates it it is going to kill us all it will destroy everything it does nothing worth anything it has to be stopped and that's why I will continue to build it"
Dario Amodei: AI may be uniquely well suited to autocracy and deepening repression. “We already see it in the kind of surveillance state possible with today’s technology.” “AI can make individualized propaganda and break into computer systems.” “It could surveil everyone in a population, detect dissent everywhere and suppress it.” “You could have a huge army of drones that could go after each individual person.” “It’s really scary, and we have to stop it.”

En dan dat zinnetje: bij een rondetafelgesprek met experts waren alleen de coalitiefracties en Pro komen opdagen. Gaat over miljarden. Geen talkshow die eens verhaal gaat halen bij de rest van de Kamer. volkskrant.nl/politiek/kabin…

The naysayers are getting embarrassing. Every day, people are using AI to make incredible breakthroughs and answer some of the toughest questions around, like "what do I like about my child?"

So let met get that straight: paying a wealth tax is impossible (“billionaires have no liquidity”, “it would be taxing unrealized gains”, “their wealth is virtual”) but paying half a billion to influence elections is possible. Did I understand well?
Elon Musk has cemented his record as the largest individual political donor in modern American history. Musk poured $446 million of his own money into this year’s midterm elections, mostly aimed at preserving the Republican Party’s control of Congress. wapo.st/4igb5Kq

you're just going about your day and you now get to read stuff like "Trump says Sundar Pichai talked him out of renaming the Atlantic Ocean" and you just have to nod and move on with your day. “Oceans are different, sir.” lmao theverge.com/policy/1016751/…

Things are moving so fast that everyone seems to have completely missed how insane it is that AI companies have been allowed to unleash agentic AI products with no regulatory guidelines.
SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios. The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios. Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said. Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior. Read my latest for Axios here: axios.com/2026/10/22/ai-agen…
