If the worst-case scenario had happened to this mother, as the picture appears to show, with #TPLF fighters using her home as a trench during the war, how would such an incident be judged under international humanitarian law? 🫢 TPLF is a terrorist group!

Zemene Kase's FANO is as brut@l as the brut@l Eritrean regime.
🚨 Alliance for Survival Chairman Fano Zemene Kassie announces six-point medium-term plan aimed at removing the @AbiyAhmedAli regime, ending Ethiopia's recurring wars, and safeguarding the survival of Ethiopia's peoples Fano Zemene Kassie, Chairman of the Ethiopian People’s Forces Alliance for Survival (AFS), read the alliance’s latest statement on October 31st, 2026, in the presence of Council members, including TPLF Chairman Debretsion Gebremichael, following the conclusion of its sixth regular Council meeting held from October 30th–31st. During the meeting, the first since the alliance’s establishment was publicly announced, the Council assessed Ethiopia’s political and military situation, regional developments and international relations before approving a six-point medium-term strategic plan aimed at removing the Abiy regime from power and establishing an inclusive political transition. The statement emphasized that AFS is not merely a temporary military alliance formed to overthrow the Prosperity Party government, but a long-term strategic coalition seeking to end Ethiopia’s recurring wars, safeguard the survival of its peoples and establish a democratic political system. The Council accused the Abiy regime of fueling wars and intercommunal violence across Tigray, Amhara, Oromia, Somali, Afar, Sidama, Gambella and other regions. It also warned that Ethiopia’s domestic wars risk expanding into a wider regional war through military confrontations and provocations involving neighboring countries. The six-point strategic plan includes: 1. Strengthening the alliance’s multifaceted struggle against the Abiy regime. 2. Coordinating popular resistance and diplomatic activities inside Ethiopia and across diaspora communities. 3. Strengthening the military and organizational capabilities of AFS member organizations and coordinating operations against regime forces. 4. Expanding cooperation with political parties, civic organizations, intellectuals, diplomats and influential public figures. 5. Strengthening relations and cooperation with the peoples and governments of the Horn of Africa. 6. Expanding diplomatic engagement and media operations. Fano Zemene Kassie also conveyed the Council’s call for AFS member organizations to strengthen military coordination and unity, while emphasizing that Ethiopia’s future political transition must include the active participation of political parties, civic institutions and the broader population. Addressing the international community, the Council declared: “We call upon the entire international community to properly recognize the destructive role being played by the authoritarian, genocidal Prosperity Party regime as an instigator of war and conflict in the region and as a threat to the survival, peace and security of both Ethiopia’s peoples and neighboring countries.” The statement concluded by urging the international community to cooperate with AFS in protecting human and democratic rights and promoting lasting peace and stability throughout the Horn of Africa.

#Ethiopia, One of the gravest analytical mistakes about #Tigray today is confusing the narratives of entrenched political networks with the political realities emerging from the people themselves. More than five weeks have passed since the latest war erupted in Tigray, and just over two weeks since the caretaker administration was established. The ongoing local elections, attracting hundreds and reportedly thousands of participants across different zones of the region, are becoming more than administrative exercises. They are also public forums where long-suppressed grievances and political demands are finding expression. Today’s developments in Abi Adi are particularly significant. Abi Adi is the principal town of Tembien, historically one of the important centers of opposition to TPLF rule within Tigray. Grievances over political exclusion and marginalization have persisted for decades, sometimes encountering intimidation and suppression, and, in my assessment, often being contained through political co-optation. The peaceful protests of 2004 and the reported threats against their organizers illustrate how deeply rooted these grievances are. Based on the accounts I am gathering, the opposition expressed toward any form of revival of TPLF reflects frustrations that extend well beyond the latest political and military upheaval. That is why I reiterate that Global Analysts must understand that Tigray’s political complexity cannot be reduced to competing narratives circulated by long-established partisan networks. Understanding Tigray requires listening to its people, not merely to those who have long claimed the exclusive authority to speak for them. The U.S. State Department’s 2004 Human Rights Report documented peaceful protests in Abi Adi, Tembien, and reported threats of arrest by TPLF Central Committee members against protest organizers. a cowardly act that puts civilians at risk. TPLF been using the people of Tigray as a disposal. The people of Tigray must start a campaign to clear TPLF remnant from Tigray .
TPLF-aligned Facebook page posted this photo of their fighter taking cover inside a farmer’s home, with a civilian woman standing next to her. Embedding combatants among civilians is a reprehensible tactic that puts non-combatants at direct risk.

TPLF thrived by creating chaos and division among Tigrayans and there’s nothing pan-Tigrayan about it. You could, however, argue that TPLF is singularly responsible for the making of a pan-Eritrean identity and the formation of the Eritrean nation. Go fight Sebhat Nega about it.
Next thing you know he’s gonna to tell us to stop listening to Iyasu Berhe. TPLF is singularly responsible for the making of a pan-Tigrayan identity and the formation of the Tigrayan nation. Go fight Gebru Tareke about it.
