Encouraging a loved one to seek a dementia diagnosis can sometimes be difficult.
Approach with empathy, talk about the benefits: ruling out other causes, early intervention, access to support, a clearer path for learning together and managing symptoms. Knowing and understanding what is going on.
Offer to accompany them to the appointment and write down together what you want to talk about if possible.
