In the last 24 hours, we've received many calls to deal with frozen pipes that have burst as temperatures become milder. Unless there is a risk to life, there is little we can do. United Utilities have some excellent advice on how to deal with burst pipes: orlo.uk/qEBdf

Spending time around rivers and lakes can be dangerous, water can and does kill.
If you get into difficulty in the water, remember - Float to Live.
Floating minimises your risk of gasping uncontrollably and breathing in water, which can quickly lead to drowning.

In the last week alone, crews dealt with 23 deliberate fires.
When someone starts a fire deliberately, they're not only putting firefighters’ lives at risk, but also local people. Fires can easily spread & even a slight change in wind can pose a serious risk to life & property.
