The Vice President of Botswana and Minister of Finance, Mr Ndaba Nkosinathi Gaolathe, highlighted the importance of youth participation in the national budget process.
He also emphasized that the Budget Pitso creates a platform for meaningful dialogue between the Government and young people on Botswana’s economic direction and how public resources can be allocated to address the country’s competing needs.

Meaningful national dialogue needs to be heard everywhere, not just inside the room.
That's why we're proud to power the Ministry of Finance's Budget Pitso with connectivity through our product - MyEvent WiFi.
From Selebi-Phikwe today to Maun next Tuesday, we're keeping people connected so the conversation, the questions, and the live moments can reach everyone, wherever they are.
It's more than WiFi. It's about making sure every voice can be part of shaping our national budget.

Mascom CEO Officiates Day 2 of the 44th University of Botswana Graduation
This morning, the Mascom CEO, Ms. Dzene Makhwade-Seboni, delivered the keynote address at the 2026 44th UB Graduation Ceremony under the theme “Building High-Performance Economies: From Excellence To Global Impact”.
The ceremony comprised of graduates from Diploma levels up to PhDs, across various disciplines from the Faculty of engineering and the Built Environment, and Faculty of Business, Economics and Law.
In her address, she urged the graduates to think carefully about their own purpose regardless of their career path. It is what informs a person’s why and without it, one is simply lost.
She believes that Botswana’s economy needs solutions carried by the graduates and encouraged them to own their future. In her words, she reminded the graduates that as they leave the university with their degrees, they should leave not only with degrees but conviction that they can contribute, compete and lead Botswana into a high-performance economy.
She also awarded, the best performing student in Business Information Systems from the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, Ms. Katlego Kombani who scored a CGPA of 4.3!
Congratulations to the University of Botswana Class of 2026 graduates. We are here to Power Connections that Inspire Change.
