Super proud to present my project this year.
Massive thanks to @DylanPoulus for supervising my research this year.
Very proud of @MasonJDrew, who presented the results of his psychology honours research at the @SCU_Australia Honours Conference last week.
Titled “Stress and Coping in Elite Esports: A Diary Study of Stress, Coping, and Coping Effectiveness”. Mason explored stress and coping experiences among LCO - League of Legends Circuit Oceania competitors via diaries across a 71-day competitive season.
👉 The main findings:
- Performance and Teammate stressors accounted for 73% of all stressors reported.
- Mastery & Internal Regulation coping strategies were more effective at alleviating stress than Goal Withdrawal strategies.
- Elite players reported using Mastery coping strategies most frequently. + Much more!!
Mason will be submitting this for review soon! Congratulations.
