Since I started domming so early in my life, I now sometimes regret having met certain guys when I did. If you’ll forgive a dom getting a little introspective - I was inexperienced or too young or in the wrong stage of life, and that caused our dynamic to suffer. There are subs that used to connect with me so well and now I either barely hear from or have fallen out with, and I wish I could’ve met them now and given them more attention or a better experience. There was a pup I owned and trained for a long time and who eventually came to visit me, but it was such a busy time for me academically and I didn’t have the proper experience in person to make it the fun and fulfilling dynamic it should’ve been. That sub now belongs to another dom and I can’t blame him for that, but I think about how it could’ve gone differently, if I wasn’t in a student apartment or drowning in exams or out of my depth. There was another sub, a friend honestly, that ended up on the receiving end of a minor mentally ill obsession that I could’ve avoided entirely if I was just better equipped emotionally for it. And another sub who I still consider a friend, and who I met with more than once, but it was never fully satisfying for either of us I think. And the love and affection he had for me, dulled over time. I still want him badly, as a friend, as a sub, or potentially more, and wish I could’ve strengthened our dynamic instead of falling short of expectation. If my body was hotter, my experience making content stronger, my mental health stabler, my time freer, my attention greater, my home nicer, my skills better, then maybe I could’ve had really special lasting relationships with them, and I regret that it didn’t happen that way. But ultimately there’s nothing to do but learn from it and move on and improve to avoid making the same mistakes and find the guys who I will end up keeping as my own.
