I may not be Webb, but here is my favorite I've taken of a different galaxy. This is the Whirlpool Galaxy

The winner of #NAstroCoverComp 2022 is… the wonderful image of Centaurus A from @Benjy_man et al.! Another winning image of Cen A, to add to the 2021 winner; this time with @mwatelescope. Congratulations to everyone involved!🏆

I used 24 hours of exposure to create this photo of the Witch's Head nebula. Always amazes me what beautiful colors are contained within the swirling gas and dust of the cosmos.
Super sad to hear that Artemis 1 was scrubbed today, so here is a closeup photo of the moon I took to hold you over.

MOON SHOT. A planetary scientist from Mandeville teamed up with another “astrophotographer” from Arizona to capture this incredible image of the moon. It shows the lunar surface in spectacular detail like we’ve never seen it before. 6 @WWLTV @MatherneConnor
33 hours of exposure on a small portion of the sky using a telescope. I call this one the Dolphin Nebula.
I took this during a night under the stars in Joshua Tree. Amazing what can be seen when you are nowhere near a city.
Look ma! 👀
A viral post has revealed an incredible new image of the moon – but it wasn't captured by NASA. cbsn.ws/3cfzou7
My photo of the Trifid Nebula, a small nebula located 4,000 light years away.
While technical details are cool and all, I think it looks like forbidden cotton candy and I really haven't gotten past that.
Woke up to 5000 followers- that's amazing. For those that are brand new because of my moon photo collab with @AJamesMcCarthy, I thought it would be worth showing you mainly what I do. I am a deep space astrophotographer.

Two years ago, I teamed up with fellow astrophotographer and planetary scientist @MatherneConnor to capture the most ridiculously detailed moon image we could. Over the last few months we put our heads together again to come up with something even clearer. Behold:
New collaboration with @AJamesMcCarthy just dropped, our highest resolution photo of the moon 👀
Welp- just broke my old record for longest exposure time for a photograph.
119 hours of exposure on one of the largest nebulae in the universe, the Tarantula Nebula.
Check out this photo of the 🌓 emoji that @AJamesMcCarthy and I took by combing our photos of the moon together.
Oh shit what up
This "Eye of God" astro photo was captured with a 107-hour exposure. petapixel.com/2022/07/29/ast…
I have been capturing photons from this nebula for over 2 years now. In total, this image contains 77 hours of exposure spread across countless nights. I am proud to present the Gabrial Mistrel Nebula, the same one famously photographed by JWST.
Curious where the JWST image comes from, and how my amateur version compares? Check it.

See that blue? That's literally a nebula that contains floating diamonds. The light scatters through it in a process known as Rayleigh Scattering, giving it that characteristic blue color. The universe is amazing, and it's right at our fingertips.
The result of pointing a 14.5" telescope at a small portion of the sky for 24 hours.
The Wizard Nebula.
