Each week I’ve been forgetting to share this: my dad does a radio show for a local community radio station. It starts in five minutes… go listen 🙂

For over 2 hours, I’ve been trying to sort out a repair or replacement of @Sony headphones bought from @Argos_Online which are under warranty. Their AI assistants are awful, and I keep getting sent to Sony repair centres that are too far away and don’t fix headphones.
Oh come on @ITV, I’m glad the Lionesses won but enough coverage now. Where’s Karen Pirie?

The crime writing community is amongst the most supportive I have ever come across; I feel privileged to be a member of it.
Everyone I know, no matter where they are on the ladder, reaches behind them to pull others up. It’s a beautiful thing 🥰
“When I started, Reginald Hill, @SaraParetsky and Sue Grafton were so kind and helpful to me. In turn, I try to give a hand up to the people behind me,” says @valmcdermid

If you see this ugly mug around the festival do say hi! I’m too shy to come up to people - even if I know you! But I do love to chat 🙂 #TheakstonCrime
In an ideal world the government would only bring an important bill to parliament when it has been carefully constructed with input from experts. Maybe even a multi-partisan approach. But no, @UKLabour irresponsibly rushed this through and won’t dare lose face. Just #KillTheBill!
Honestly the whole lead up to this #WelfareReformBill with the years’ long speculation over what the last and this government have been considering doing to disabled people has caused incredible stress to me and all other disabled people that I know. They’re truly #TakingThePIP.
When I voted @UKLabour for the first time in last year’s election, I expected a kinder and more compassionate government than the disastrous Tories. This and the winter fuel debacle has shown that I was wrong. Might be the first and last time they have my vote.
It’s been a while since I was in a lecture theatre with @MimiThebo! Great start to #UoBWritersDay!
I see the fandom going mad for Dugga Doo, but surely it’s obvious that Dugga Doo is the third member of the Unholy Trinity and cannot be trusted? 😮 #DoctorWho

Reading and storytelling is a doorway to so many adventures from our earliest years to the very end of our lives. I still reach into old wardrobes looking for Narnia…
Reading gave @RCArmitage his career; what might it do for you? 1000 Quick Read books will be given away from 11.30am for the @readingagency's mass ‘Read-in’ at @WaterstonesBD1 from 11.30am on 23 April PLUS @radiomukhers will be signing his books too.

Pensioners, disabled people (especially those with mental health issues), and now transgender women. At least now I know 2024 was the first and last time I’ll vote for this @UKLabour party. I thought we got rid of the callous Tories, seems not. bbc.com/news/articles/crldey…
Doctor Who is back! I’ve been struggling with my mental health lately and the best form of therapy - the best way to boost to my mood - is @bbcdoctorwho . You could say that I’ve been needing a Doctor 😂
I’ve brought former Countdown contestant @iam_fredsson (aka, Dave, my dad!) to the @HallforCornwall to see @susie_dent for her Secret Life of Words 😁

Life costs MORE if you’re disabled:
- Extra energy costs for medical equipment
- Accessible transport or car adaptations
- Specialist services and therapies
- Paying more to get the weekly shop delivered
- Having to pay for a carer
- Higher heating bills

The government has announced the most devastating cuts to disability benefits on record.
These plans should shame the government to its core.
Here's our initial response to the new Welfare Green Paper 🧵👇
Always the government’s punching bag, no matter which party is in charge 👍 #DisabilityBenefits #PIP #MentalHealth
