Why are @AsdaServiceTeam trying to help themselves to people's bank accounts by making up new charges for items? I called this morning and still nothing has changed.

A 1,000,000th reminder the crucial importance of basic research. Ambros and Ruvkun were looking into understanding nematode genetics and development, not looking for a drug, and ended up opening an entire new area in biology

The irony of insomnia is, for me, the small hours are time of greatest clarity and focus.Much of my PhD thesis was written between 2300-0400, and I get at least twice, if not thrice, as much done per hr. Of course it's also highly antisocial and by early pm I'm paying big time.

Fantastic to see this paper on development and deployment of an air quality measurement system to study personal exposure in trains. Very important work!
The first paper from my PhD has been published! We built a Mobile Reference System (MoRS) to quantify personal exposure to air quality (PM, nitrogen dioxide and ozone) and tested it in subway and above-ground train carriages doi.org/10.1016/j.atmosenv.2… @drdaveimperial @ERGImperial
Four days back after the Christmas break (albeit with a few days' work in there) and I'm already knackered. Bring on Christmas 2024.
