We’re about to learn that most code written over the last 20 years was complete slop and most software developers were never that good

Run, do not walk, from any cloud provider who is throwing public shade at Railway (or any other provider). The better your security team is, the more internal pressure you have not to mouth off about security in Q4 2026.

Our legal templates have now passed 3,100 stars on GitHub. Really incredible to see the response.
We made them free because we wanted to give back to the startup community who have all been so supportive of us. We also knew founders need access to high-quality legal templates before they have the budget for a legal team.
Just happy to see that it was helpful to so many of you.

Most founders copy/paste their privacy policy from Stripe or ask Claude to draft an MSA at 2:00 AM, then pray they don't get sued.
You can stop doing this.
We built a free, CC0-licensed legal template library for startups:
-MSAs
-Employment agreements
-Privacy policies
-More...
And because many of you on here asked, here is an agent-friendly link to where these are posted on GitHub:

Railway has been turbo pwned, I'm freaking out because hackers have access to decrypted ENV variables and I asked Claude to help but-
NOPE. NOT CLAUDE.
The most dangerous part of this ecosystem is @anthropic and their ridiculous moralizing.
An urgent notice from the Railway team

Reminder: infra matters, even more now with AI. And in the past, maybe appdevs could get away with poor security practices because it was an outrun the bear strategy: so many other people were bad so what were the odds you’d get hit? But now there are infinite bears on infinite keyboards. Good luck
This week of vulnerability hell is a prime example of why “model safeguards” are anything but. If I cannot use Claude to inspect my code for security holes but the bad guys can use an unrestricted model to find them, there’s no way I can keep up. Anthropic needs to seriously rethink their stance here.

Nathan: Do you see why this is funny?
Elizabeth: He’s wearing a hot dog costume?
Nathan: Yeah, he is. But what about his feigned innocence at not being the one who drove the hot dog car through the wall?
Elizabeth: Well…he’s saying he didn’t do that.

it’s hard to explain the 2010s microservices fever dream to anyone who wasn’t there
every day on HN, we'd wake up to an article from a new startup about how they split their app into 300 services so they could infinitely scale (never mind that they only had 100 MAUs today)
so many companies never recovered from this
it turns out, replacing simple function calls with network calls that could randomly fail isn't great for shipping velocity

Introducing Probe: The Agent-Native Research Stack.
Our goal is simple: help AI/ML teams run better experiments, faster.
Teams run research with agents now, but their work is disordered. They lose hours verifying what their agents actually did, managing environments and compute, and re-explaining company context their agents should already know.
So we rebuilt the research stack from the ground up for agent-driven research.
Probe brings core research tools, shared context from past experiments, and visibility into each run together in one platform.
Teams can spend less time setting up infrastructure, supervising agents, and catching teammates up, and more time testing ideas.
If you’re a research lab, scale your research team without sacrificing speed.
If you’re an AI/ML team, stand up a research capability with the infrastructure of a frontier lab.

Hearing from the rumor mill: a frontier lab is preparing to release a new model that is better than their old model. In response, other frontier labs are reportedly releasing new models that are better than their old models. One of these will be the best. It may be a surprise.
One thing I have come to learn is the importance of having a product you are currently selling. ANY product.
Yes, there is no technical moat anymore. The moat is token months. Pre-AI software can mostly be one-shotted because it is shallow and relatively simple, but software built in the agentic age would require the same amount of token time to build from scratch.
This means an agentic project that started 6 months ago, which has been compounding daily, stands to be in a perpetual lead against a project just starting today.
Pre-AI, incumbents also had this advantage, but they would start to fatigue quickly from the buildout, allowing newcomers to disrupt them.
Fatigue is now largely a thing of the past.

Head of Design at Stripe on how to stop creating zombie UIs
If we only use AI to make the things that we already make, just faster, then we're definitely missing out on the most interesting part.
From my talk at @lennysan’s Summit, here are four ideas for raising the ceiling, not just the floor:
- Have a point of view [5:38]
- Encode your standards into the machine [9:07]
- Don't confuse done with good [12:21]
- Unleash creativity and artistry [16:19]

I used to have Fable 5.1 MAX (or XHIGH) plan everything but it's just too slow and expensive. I can run 30 concurrent 5.5 Opus XHIGH for the price of 1 Fable, and it's all super fast. I then just need one Fable to clean up the mess.

We recently added idle compaction to Claude Code!
It now compacts long idle sessions right before the prompt cache expires (~1h). If you come back to it later, it only has to reprocess the summary instead of the entire conversation, which saves you some usage.

We've been working hard on making the Claude Code desktop app great for running lots of sessions side by side.
It's now much quicker to start sessions, easier to split work across a few, and you can always see what each of them is doing. Here’s what's new:
