I'm a bit late to it but this is a great episode. Incredible @MoStateFootball staff info from Mr. @SparkyWoods1. Well done everyone involved.
Great show today with new @MoStateFootball assistant coach, @SparkyWoods1 (The father of head coach, @CoachCaseyWoods). Show will air Saturday at noon on @NewsTalkKSGF with podcast to follow.

These are all the teams set to go bowling this season 🎳
Repost if your team is on the list 🙌
Solid take.
Tough road loss for Mo State Football at Kennesaw State.
I was in a setting where I couldn't really see, hear or focus on what was happening at the end ... so I went back just now and watched the final few crucial minutes.
A Bears coaching staff that has punched all the right buttons most of this season will no doubt look back on this film and ask "what the heck were we thinking?" with the way they played the final 1:30 of the game - and two plays in particular.
First, when they had moved the ball easily downfield to get to a 1st and 10 at the KSU 34, in a 34-all score, and with a road win again right there for the taking ... if they just keep running the football with Lawrence and Green even three consecutive times to get a few yards closer for a potential game-winning FG (and run some more clock/force the Owls to burn timeouts in doing so).
Instead ... The trick play, toss it back to the QB pass attempt on first down that was instead awful and almost picked off ... why?
Then, the fake field goal try on fourth down where you think your tiny kicker is going to pick up at least 10 yards running around the end on 4th and 10 against that athletic D ... why?
The veteran MSU kicker had a better chance of pushing a career-best, 52-yarder over the crossbar (and maybe for the win) than he did outrunning any of those KSU defenders to the corner.
Head-scratchers.
But you ultimately got to give this staff a pass because, like I said, they've had a lot of gambles pay off in this now 7-4 season, with a chance for win No. 8 at home vs La Tech next weekend.
Obviously some decisions today they're going to wish they had back.
That's my quarterback.
Liberty had the best CUSA pass defense (statistically, anyway) until it played Missouri State, dropping it to No. 2 behind UTEP.
UTEP had the No. 1 pass defense in CUSA this week before playing MSU, dropping it to No. 2 behind Liberty.
Clark in those back-to-back wins: 50-72, 616 yards, six TDs, no INTs.
This is incredible! Well done sir.
Breaking news- @MoStateFootball great @RandySantel went to “Eli’s” today in Bowling Green, KY - home to Western Kentucky University & defeated the “Daddy Bear Burger” challenge. He renamed the challenge the “Missouri State Bears Burger”! Big time! @MissouriState @MissouriStBears
He's right. It's embarrassing.
Once again, I will hype the incredible talents of @rwcollingwood and the @sgfcitizen. The best @MoStateFootball coverage all season!
I mean c'mon, News-Leader. Seriously.
This is AI-level reporting, basically taken from a box score/Sports Info release, is a slap in the face to decades of journalism and effort put in by N-L sports writers and editors who watched games, chased down quotes, gave descriptions of plays, talked about the significance of the victories and losses, etc.
And for god's sake ... don't put a by-line on it when the kid is writing it from his recliner in Louisiana and watching the game on TV.
My mentors like Marty Eddlemon and Larry S. Hazelrigg are in Heaven about to have a cow, I'm sure.
This is not sportswriting, even if it is the year 2025. Whatever you are paying for this, find some college kid who can at least go to the games and get a quote or two from those involved in it.
