Eight years ago today, we suffered the deadliest act of antisemitism in American history when a killer entered Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh while people prayed and murdered 11 of our neighbors. It’s been 2,922 days since the attack, but the pain still lingers in our Commonwealth. Today we offer prayers of comfort to those touched by this violence. Let today be a moment for action, remembrance, and resolve to combat antisemitism in all forms. May the memories of Joyce Fienberg, Richard Gottfried, Rose Mallinger, Jerry Rabinowitz, Cecil Rosenthal, David Rosenthal, Bernice Simon, Sylvan Simon, Daniel Stein, Melvin Wax, and Irving Younger forever be a blessing.

It’s kinda crazy to me that we melt sand down, clean it to 99.99999% purity, literal wizards have to draw it slowly into an ingot, we cut it, inscribe a hundred billion little on/off switches on it, and when you run electric current through it you can do basic arithmetic, which when you do enough of it can do any math on the planet, and which describes reality well enough that we can teach it the ontological meaning of words and their distance from each other on a high-dimensional space, and if you ask, it can tell you what word comes next and that apparently is powerful enough that if you do it a hundred billion times it’s the smartest thing to ever exist oh yeah and we use this primarily for email

Yes. Israel has imprisoned Jews for murdering Palestinians, including Amiram Ben-Uliel (three life sentences for the 2015 Duma arson that killed a Palestinian family) and Yosef Haim Ben-David (life plus 20 years for the 2014 murder of Muhammad Abu Khdeir). Elor Azaria also served prison time for manslaughter. No. Palestinian authorities have not imprisoned Palestinians for murdering Jews. The PA has never indicted anyone for such murders, practices temporary "protective custody" instead, and pays stipends to those held by Israel for these acts.

This is one of the most comical ads this election cycle. Yes, Americans are chatting at the grocery store about how they can’t buy groceries because their tax dollars “go to Israel” 🙄 😂 nevermind the fact that Israel has invested 100% of military aid in the U.S. economy since Oct 7, and has also purchased over $1 billion *additional* in arms, according to DoD. Federal military aid is also prohibited from being spent on anything other than U.S. arms, so the line about healthcare is even more comical. El Sayed and his Islamist fans like Cenk Uygur want and expect American voters to be so stupid they never check. Not only is this ad insane, conspiratorial, and antisemitic — it is also flat out false. El Sayed isn’t for the people of Michigan, he isn’t even for America. He is for the Muslim Brotherhood.

The following is intended for those who want to put “די” in the ballot box but are hesitating because of the electoral threshold. (Those who have no intention of supporting us can simply skip this...) One of the biggest (and most common) mistakes Israeli voters make is giving up on voting for the party that truly represents them in favor of a “larger party,” believing that this is a smarter (and more “strategic”) choice. Why is this a mistake? Voters who believe in a small party and what it has to offer, but nevertheless choose to vote for other parties they identify with less, create a self-fulfilling prophecy, especially for parties that are just above the electoral threshold. Worse still, Israel’s political graveyard is full of large and medium-sized parties that urged voters to support them solely on the basis of the “large party” argument, only to lose the opportunity to form a government precisely because they weakened the smaller parties they needed to build a coalition. So, to everyone who wants to vote for us with their heart, I would add that voting for us is also the rational choice. Not only are we crossing the electoral threshold in most polls, but your vote will help ensure that all the other people who currently support us also receive the political representation they want. In this sense, a marginal vote for us is a vote that is “worth more,” because it helps push the party across the electoral threshold, which translates into four seats in the Knesset. Putting “די” in the ballot box is the most rational vote you can cast, and the highest-value vote you can give in this election.

According to the PAC supporting Abdul El-Sayed for U.S. Senate, the reason Americans can’t afford groceries is because the U.S. is paying for “Israel to kill Palestinians.” Blaming America’s problems on Israel isn’t simply criticism of foreign aid. That’s why they don’t care about the billions of aid going to Egypt, Jordan and Ukraine. Or about US military forces defending Europe, South Korea and Japan. Israel is central to the identity of most American Jews. Singling out Israel as the cause of American suffering is a thinly veiled attempt to turn Americans against their Jewish compatriots, portraying their support for Israel as evidence of divided loyalties and their political influence as a threat to the interests of their fellow Americans. It is an old antisemitic tool dressed up as a foreign-policy argument. @PatinkinMandy
Israel First Mike Rogers’ career is cooked after this Abdul El Sayed ad. This is brilliant.

The High Cost of Delusion – When “Resistance” Becomes Self-Destruction: This is the insanity of the Palestinian “resistance” narrative: repeating the same failed approach for decades and expecting different results. When two selfish psychopaths in Hebron, much like Hamas’s two psychopaths in Gaza, Sinwar and Deif on October 7, chose armed “resistance” without regard for the consequences, ordinary Palestinians pay the highest price. The Israeli military has ordered the evacuation of an entire district, demolishing homes, businesses, factories, and infrastructure while displacing thousands of civilians. Unsurprisingly, many Palestinians are furious with the attackers and those who glorify them, seeing their actions as reckless, futile, and devastating for an already defenseless population. That anger is compounded by the timing: with Israeli elections approaching, elements of the governing coalition are eager to showcase hardline policies toward Palestinians in a last-minute bid for votes. And yes, punishing an entire area of Hebron for the actions of two individuals is unjust and a form of collective punishment. Nevertheless, this is the post-October 7 reality imposed by Israel’s security and political establishment: the price of deadly attacks will be devastatingly high, whether in Gaza, southern Lebanon, or the West Bank. Acknowledging this is not endorsing it. It is recognizing that Palestinians face a new reality that demands a different course. Isn’t it long past time for a fundamental shift in Palestinian socio-political discourse and thinking, one that rejects fantasies of “resistance” which repeatedly produce more death, displacement, and loss of land and opportunity? Do not turn the West Bank into another Gaza.

Crazy
The Israeli army demolished a Palestinian home in Hebron, in the West Bank, that had no connection to those who carried out the attack, simply because it was near the site of the attack. The family is now homeless.

Iran has sentenced 21-year-old Taraneh Rahimi to death and her twin sister, Romina, to 36 years in prison for participating in anti-government protests. Their family alleges that both women were severely tortured and forced to confess to charges including "waging war against God" before their sentencing in August. Iranian authorities did not respond to CBS News' request for comment. CBS News' @InayaFolarin spoke with the twins' U.S.-based cousin, Masoud Nourmohammadi, about their case and the family's efforts to seek justice.

**You need to watch Zelenskyy's interview with Steven Bartlett.** Sitting in front of the camera is an utterly exhausted, at times visibly broken man who has spent almost five years personally managing a war, making critical decisions day and night. From the very first minutes, you can see just how drained he is. When asked the routine question, "How are you?" he replies that he barely sleeps because he spends his nights in military group chats, moving the last remaining air defense systems from one region to another. Two stories are particularly heartbreaking. The first is about a missile that struck a children's playground within seconds, while parents watched from their apartment windows as their children were torn apart. The second is about presenting posthumous military awards to the families of fallen soldiers: "You present an award to a father, feel his strong hand, and then he quietly asks, 'Can we hug?' At that moment, I simply cease to exist inside. These people are gone. They will never be the same again." When the host tries to take him back into his past, showing old photographs from Kryvyi Rih, his student comedy performances, his voice acting as Paddington Bear, and scenes from *Servant of the People*, Zelenskyy looks at them with detachment, almost as though he is watching someone else's life. He also recalls February 2022 without any attempt to portray himself as a hero. He says that for the first 20 days, he simply ran from office to office on adrenaline, calling everyone he could and trying to organize deliveries of water and food to Kyiv. Fear and the full realization of what had happened only caught up with him three weeks later, when Bucha was liberated and mass graves containing hundreds of murdered civilians were discovered. Using Bucha as an example, he explains why advice from outsiders to simply negotiate a quick deal causes him such deep frustration: "Imagine that in the United States or Britain, a mass grave is discovered containing 500 tortured people with their hands tied. How could you simply forgive everything after that?" The rest of the conversation revolves around the deadlock in which Ukrainians, and indeed everyone involved, now find themselves. Zelenskyy explains the causes of the war in simple terms: Moscow is trying to forcibly rebuild the Soviet empire because Ukraine's integration into Europe would finally bury that project. But when the conversation turns to the present, there is unmistakable bitterness in his words. Almost one-fifth of Ukraine's territory is occupied. The east is under relentless bombardment. Cities are left without electricity. People are dying every single day. Meanwhile, every discussion about a ceasefire runs into the same demand: Kyiv must withdraw even farther from its fortified positions, without any guarantees that Russia will not launch another offensive a year later. Toward the end, the conversation turns to Trump and Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil facilities. Trump publicly reprimands Zelenskyy over attacks on Russian refineries because he fears rising diesel prices for American farmers ahead of the elections. And this is where you can see just how deeply that approach affects Zelenskyy. His country is burning. Moscow has rejected his proposal for a mutual halt to attacks on energy infrastructure. Patriot missiles paid for by Europe are being redirected by the Americans to the Middle East. And somehow, Zelenskyy is the one being blamed for fuel prices in the United States. The entire interview leaves you with a profoundly bleak feeling. Here is a man trapped between the daily deaths of people in his own country and the pragmatic bargaining of allies who have their own elections, their own interests, and their own political calculations. And yet, he can no longer step away from this responsibility. **Watch it.**
