A software factory is a bunch of softwares glued together. It's an ecosystem for agents to navigate and collaborate in order to build a desirable outcome. Maybe I don't need to change my title. I might still be a software engineer for 2027.

Follow that man.
as bad as things have gotten in the past 4 days, they are going to get a lot worse before they get better. security leaders, never let a crisis go to waste: please go to your boards and ask for help right now. not for ai, for the basics. (we need to hold on for ~18 months.)

API token wise I mean.
I feel the current AI meta is off atm. Opus 5.5 is impressive and deserve all the praise. It's SOTA on raw intelligence. But GPT 6.1 Sol is the most useful one.

Unless you have infinite money to buy infinite amount of subs that in return pay for themselves, then go on, just use Opus 5.5 for everything. It is the best model. The real frontier. But if you are from the 99% of the 0.2% using models for a living, just put gpt 6.1 Sol high in the mix. It is the only fundational one for fully automatic agentic workflows. It's cost/intelligence ratio is unmatched. People and Businesses need to start acknownledging that. No lessons to be drawn from Theo's usage imho, quite the opposite.

Everyone is going to be a creator. There will be art for everybody, every nich, every fetichism. This video has 80's vibe, when no movie was ever made without selling sex. It was just the meta of the time I guess. Then the meta evolved. Nobody could do this meta mainstream thereafter without being cancelled. Now, everyone is free, and we'll see what people really want. The video also demonstrates that making art needs dedication, taste. This clip is rubbish, it's just an interesting demo on this tech SOTA. Special talent will still exist. Isolating signal over noise will be more on more important. I believe curators, as influencers will keep being a big part of our lives.
If you think AI film can’t be art then explain this.

Now I might use Youtube App again, instead of the website on Brave with native anti-shorts filter.

You have the option to set your Shorts time limit to zero. You shouldn’t see Shorts on your YouTube homepage anymore if you set your time limit to zero. More info on how to set your limit here: goo.gle/47sGiFc

actually I will not, I don't want the ads, no thank you. Funny how Brave + Youtube on the mobile is actually a free premium youtube sub. (and even better tbh, as the algorithm of refreshing your feed doesn't work as well on Brave and therefore do not propose you new content all the time, sucking your soul out, you mere dopamine addict)

This is not a secret, but it is one of the biggest differenciator between top performers (any intellectual job remaining :p) and the masses. Fight the cognitive lazyness ! You are responsible for your understanding. Do your own work ! So many people ask for meetings, video tutorials, etc because they just can't bear the load. Brain is a muscle. Train it, or be replaced.
The most important coding skill: read. Teach yourself how to read. Read the agent output. Read the blog post. Read the paper. Read the code (if it applies to you). Don't summarize.

As a freelancer, I felt this risk early on. My 'normal job' is now only the consequences of my experiments with AI. Side effect, I got much more done on my 'normal job' by not focusing on it primarily. But there's variance to it. Tinkering means breaking things. On the lg though it benefits both me and my employer. But alas, my future ex-manager doesn't see it this way :p.
if your team is too busy doing their 'normal job' to experiment with AI, you're preparing them to be replaced

There should be a "donate the rest of my usage for the week to open source" button in Claude and Codex. Imagine your reset hits in 12h and you know you won't use it. Click the button, go to bed, and you just gave a poor maintainer halfway across the world a lifeline.

SpaceX just confirmed that all 26 @Starlink V3 satellites deployed in orbit today during Flight 14 have successfully made contact with each satellite via laser links, ground stations, and even Starlink user terminals! Each one of those satellites is equivalent to about 10 previous-gen V2 Mini satellites that fly on Falcon 9. This is a game changer.

We customers have been the main beneficiaries of these crazy AI wars, and we'll keep benefiting as long as Sama and Dario hate each other's guts. And as long as Sama and Elon keep despising one another. Nobody's fixing prices at our expense anytime soon.
Folks on X are so fickle about “omg openai is getting mogged by Claude 5.5” or just a few months ago “anthropic is so cooked by codex.” I’m just glad there are 2 (and soon more) competitors pushing the frontier so we can all benefit.

DevDay better be good to soften the blow @thsottiaux. I'm afraid Astra will become the new Fable 5 on the sub: great but unusable.
Hi, Tomorrow we are re-opening the Pro $200 subscriptions to new subscribers, but together with it we are also changing how we calculate the usage for it. In effect, if you do the math, it will net out at half the dollar in API spend compared to the old Pro $200 plan. Now that it's said, let me explain why this is happening and why you will still get more work done than if you were on the Pro $200 subscription one month ago. (a) We didn't want to compromise in other ways and are committing to not reintroducing the 5h limit, so that you can fully use the weekly usage when you want. (b) On the subscription, we guarantee that over time you always get more work done and with an increasing level of quality. This means that you will continue to get more value per dollar spent as a result of models getting more efficient and us passing down the improvements in the form of API price reductions. (c) We don't want to put an incentive on ourselves to artificially inflate the API list prices to make it look like you are getting a lot (and workaround it through discounts, etc). Instead we want to continue to both rapidly reduce prices and increase capabilities of models on the API. This week we introduced GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna at 50% of their previous price. Over time, we see prices go low enough that it makes sense for most to buy usage as needed without there being a significant gap between what you get in a subscription and what you get in the API for a dollar spent. (d) Tomorrow, we are adding more things to the subscription that won't draw on the usage, I won't reveal what that is yet. I wanted to be transparent before all the big announcements tomorrow. Lots of new exciting things are coming to the subscriptions that will make it super compelling, but I wanted to make sure to share this change ahead of time so you can all understand it before we shower you with good news. Codexingly, Tibo

Too many AI hypers on my feed I'm unfollowing. It's just noise. Constant yapping.

Am I the only mf not to have access to Astra yet !? (Based in France)

Still no access this morning. Figured out it might be on my side then. Spawn an agent at it. It was indeed a weird ass cache problem. Weird DX on that tbh, I was on the latest codex-cli version on mise, but the model cache was out-of-sync apparently. Anyway I have AGI now ^^

I used to be a software engineer. Trying to figure out what's next. Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE)? Lots of hype. Still not sure I understand it. Feels like a consultant job, bullshit-first. Software Factory Engineer? I'm focusing on it hard atm. Maybe the most fun I've had in years. But it's hard. Rookie mistakes, mentally exhausting, rabbit holes at every turn. Look at my workflow: 40-ish workspaces, each with several agent sessions. Every time I close one, I reopen 3. Just like I used to do with Chrome tabs while learning CS. It's endless. I love it though.
