I’m utterly thrilled to announce that I’ll be joining the composition faculty at UCSD as assistant professor starting this academic year!

It goes without saying that I’ll miss dearly my community at Boston Conservatory, who, over the past 5 years, have supported me so much, have helped me grow as a teacher, who I have learned so much from, and who have encouraged me to become ever-more myself. It’s meant the world.

So excited & honored to be profiled in @vanmusicmag !!! Thank you Jeffrey Arlo Brown!
“…noise acts maybe less as the architecture of the nest than the feathers within it, the soft barrier between body and disease and home and world that makes all of it a little bearable.”
“Listening to this music is like looking at the ocean and noticing that the foam from the breakers is neon yellow.”
The composer Timothy McCormack on connecting music to an altered body, facing mortality, and community building through compositions.

Heyyy, all those tracks i've posted this past week? They're all from one concert, and when listened to together in sequence, they make something quite beautiful! on.soundcloud.com/UDLCr (w/ @noisyandnosy )
We played the pieces without break, each one starting nearly immediately after the previous one ended. It was a really special concert experience, and I hope assembling the live recordings into this playlist gives people who weren't there some sense of it.

Absolutely THRILLED to post a recording of the premiere of "Seated at the Throat," a solo work for my beloved Ty Bouque - @noisyandnosy - years in the making... on.soundcloud.com/ThN73
Ty's physical embodiment of this piece in performance was so thoroughly captivating & honest & present... the piece isn't really itself until it's inhabited by Ty. Their presence is a deeply powerful but vulnerable thing... magic without illusion.

Over the next week, I’ll be sharing the entire recent Baltimore concert with Ty Bouque & Will Yager!
First up: “deep terrane (something moves)” - it is a vulnerable & volatile trio in which we are tethered to each other with spider’s threads…

very thankful for being part of Ty Bouque’s “Preposterous Reading” project! What I assumed would just be an interview turned into a tender portrait. Thank you Ty, as always, for everything (@noisyandnosy) preposterousreading.substack…
Gooorgeous text on the music of @lizalimcomposer & the author Beth Yahp by @noisyandnosy - such a joy to read Ty’s language
