The Las Vegas Aces waived Chennedy Carter in July before her $277,500 veteran minimum contract could become fully guaranteed. Carter has since signed a 5-month, $1M deal with defending Chinese league champion Sichuan. Carter averaged 12.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists in just 16.9 minutes per game across 13 regular season appearances for Las Vegas. The Aces could’ve used her scoring off the bench during their playoff run, which ended with a semifinal sweep by Golden State. Through 4 games with Sichuan at the FIBA Women’s Basketball League Asia tournament in India, Carter averaged 21.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists while shooting 50.8% from the field, highlighted by a 31-point performance in the semifinals. That production deserves more than a non-guaranteed minimum contract. Which WNBA team should give Chennedy Carter the opportunity she deserves next season?
