The Constitution is NOT a document of convenience!
Instead of running to the courts to silence frustrated citizens, government must address the issues forcing people onto the streets.
An interdict will not create jobs, secure our borders or fix failing institutions.

BREAKING NEWS: The three Ethiopian nationals who are accused of the attempted murder that led to riots and torching of cars and businesses in the Durban CBD three weeks ago have been freed on R5000 bail by the Durban Magistrate’s Court.
The State wanted them to remain behind bars, saying they are flight risks, but the defence disagreed. The State said they won’t be safe outside, but the defence argued that all three accused literally live minutes away from three police stations in the Durban CBD and their safety is guaranteed.
The Magistrate remarked that the three are asylum seekers and as such, they enjoy the same constitutional rights as South Africans and freed them on bail with stringent conditions.
Furthermore, the State tried to point out discrepancies in their passports and asylum documents, raising issues of possible fraud and corruption.
However, the State’s argument was watered down by evidence that was given by an immigration official who told the court that their systems have glitches and sometimes it loses records, hence they don’t have some of the information required for the court to take an informed decision - KZN Tonight Podcast

54 Undocumented Foreign Nationals Arrested At Plettenberg Bay Construction Site As Four Employers Are Arrested For Allegedly Hiring Them
A multi-agency law enforcement operation in Plettenberg Bay has resulted in the arrest of 54 undocumented foreign nationals and four employers accused of employing people illegally. The operation also led to the closure of a construction site at Jetty Retirement Estate for allegedly operating without the required construction work permit.
According to Home Affairs acting office manager in George, Mmeli Coko, 34 foreign nationals were apprehended at the construction site on 14 October. Three were released after their permits were confirmed valid, while 31 were detained for allegedly being in the country illegally and not authorised to work. Home Affairs later confirmed that 20 remained in custody awaiting deportation proceedings.
The Department of Employment and Labour confirmed that the wider operation resulted in 54 undocumented foreign nationals being arrested and four employers being incarcerated for alleged contraventions of the Immigration Act 13 of 2002. The employers were expected to appear in court on Thursday, 29 October. Inspectors also uncovered alleged labour violations, including non-payment of minimum wages and failure to register workers for UIF.
The operation involved Home Affairs, the Border Management Authority, SAPS, Bitou Law Enforcement and Bitou Traffic, following community complaints about undocumented foreign nationals and employment practices. The construction site was ordered to cease operations, with enforcement notices issued to contractors and the client. The operation followed a 30 September community march organised by the Bitou Man Shield Voluntary Forum and other structures.
