🚨 SCAM ADVISORY: “ACCIDENTALLY REPORTED YOUR ACCOUNT” SCAM Upon further research, this appears to be a newly circulating variation of an account-takeover and phishing scam targeting users on X. How the scam works: Someone messages you claiming that they—or another person—accidentally reported your account for fraud, scamming, or impersonation. They warn that your account may be permanently suspended, banned, or investigated. They direct you to contact a supposed “X Support” representative, often through Discord or another platform. The fake representative may request your email, password, verification code, account information, or ask you to change the email connected to your account. They may also demand a supposedly “refundable deposit” and use threats of account deletion, IP banning, or arrest to pressure you into paying. Please do not send money, share passwords or verification codes, change your account email, or communicate with unofficial support representatives. X advises users to handle compromised accounts and impersonation reports only through its official Help Center. X also states that it will never request your password through email, Direct Message, or reply.
