31,398 ground-drone missions: Ukraine reports an October record. Its defence ministry’s 6 November update counts logistics and evacuation missions, up from 28,491 in September and 7,511 in January. The ministry says missions are logged in DELTA and checked by Brave1 specialists. These are official figures, not independent verification of battlefield outcomes. The next indicator is whether deployment growth translates into sustained supply and evacuation capacity. The reported expansion points to a larger robotic logistics role, without measuring how much risk it removes.

80 MW of battery capacity is now operating in Ontario. Alectra Energy Solutions and Convergent said on 6 November that 3 sites in Vaughan and Guelph are operational, with 320 MWh of combined storage. The facilities hold 20-year contracts with Ontario’s grid operator. They store available electricity for release when demand is high. The next test is their performance during peak demand. Completed storage gives the grid an additional balancing resource; its value depends on dependable dispatch.

4 months for old energy labels; 12 months for exceptional stock. The EU Council’s 6 November 2026 position would allow 4 months of sales with old labels after rescaling. A separate 12-month window covers products no longer placed on the market after rescaling or suppliers that cease activities. Parliament negotiations come next; these are proposed rules, not enacted law. The distinction matters for retailers: the longer window would not cover all stock.

2 candidates are nominated to lead the ECB. The Eurogroup confirmed Pablo Hernández de Cos of Spain and Klaas Knot of the Netherlands on 6 November 2026. Ministers will take stock on 9 November. Final appointment rests with the European Council, after a Council recommendation and consultation with the ECB and European Parliament. The nominations narrow the choice; they do not settle who takes charge.

Canada’s private employment fell as public employment rose. Statistics Canada’s 6 November release puts October private-sector employment down 53,000 and public-sector employment up 50,000. Total employment was little changed, down 4,700. These are seasonally adjusted survey estimates. The next labour release, on 4 December, will show whether employers’ November hiring decisions extended the divergence. A flat national total conceals a substantial shift between employer types.

0.4 million tonnes a year, priced against Henry Hub. Gujarat Energy’s 6 November filing says it signed an LNG purchase agreement with ADNOC Trading, drawing on its international gas portfolio. The contract links pricing to the US gas benchmark. Buyers’ next procurement decisions still have to account for delivery costs and timing. A benchmark-linked price does not establish where the cargo will originate.

6 November: Treasury reports a new review of weak crypto oversight. Its account of last week’s FATF meeting says the financial-crime standard setter agreed to examine jurisdictions with longstanding digital-asset deficiencies. The review is to identify decisions for the next plenary. Treasury gives no country list or completion date. The consequential next step is whether that review leads to action against persistent supervisory gaps. A review can identify weak controls; enforcement still depends on the decisions that follow.

6 November, Washington: the US presses China on trade implementation. Treasury says Scott Bessent and trade representative Jamieson Greer spoke with Vice Premier He Lifeng about the Busan arrangement. Bessent called for full, immediate implementation and said Washington would assess concrete results. The readout announces no new tariff rate or deadline. The next test is whether implementation produces a measurable change in trade conditions. Continued dialogue alone does not establish that either side has delivered its commitments.

1 January 2027 remains the deadline. EU states want another year. On 6 November, the Council backed moving methane monitoring rules for oil, gas and coal imports to 1 January 2028, citing Middle East disruption and supply-security risks. The proposal would also defer methane-intensity reporting to 2029 and maximum-intensity requirements to 2031. Agreement with the European Parliament is still needed. The Council wants it before year-end; existing rules remain in force. Importers have a proposed reprieve, not an enacted exemption. Supply security is now shaping the compliance timetable.

39% revenue growth came with a wider operating loss at Cloudflare. Its 5 November results put third-quarter revenue at $782.5m and the loss under US accounting rules at $67.9m, versus $37.5m a year earlier. Adjusted operating income rose to $137.1m from $85.9m; that measure excludes expenses included in the reported loss. The company forecasts $845–846m in fourth-quarter revenue. Management must now deliver that growth. Faster sales have not yet produced an operating profit under standard accounting rules.

51.0 is the new US consumer sentiment reading, taken before the election. The University of Michigan’s 6 November preliminary release puts November sentiment above October’s 48.0. Interviews ran from 20 October to 2 November. Year-ahead inflation expectations fell to 4.3% from 4.7%; these are consumers’ expectations, not measured inflation. The final November release on 20 November will test whether the improvement holds. The increase describes pre-election views, not a response to the result.

17.4%: OECD energy inflation accelerated in September. The OECD’s 6 November release puts annual energy inflation at 17.4%, up from 13.6% in August. Headline inflation rose to 4.5% from 4.3%; core inflation, excluding food and energy, stayed broadly stable at 3.7%. Energy inflation increased in 31 of 37 countries with available data. The next OECD release is due 3 December. Watch whether energy pressure spreads into core prices. This acceleration is concentrated in energy, rather than evidence of uniformly faster price growth.

6 November: Enbridge reports over C$3bn of gas projects now in service. Its Q3 update names Aspen Point in British Columbia and Tennessee Ridgeline in the US. Both entered service during the quarter. The remaining secured growth backlog is C$38bn across its businesses. Sunrise’s B.C. expansion is expected in 2028, not operating capacity today. North American energy security depends on completed transport links, not simply announced budgets.

€321m is Uniper’s proposed dividend for 2026. On 6 November, the energy group set a €300m annual base and a 7% compound annual dividend-growth target. The proposed payout is €0.77 a share, up from €0.72 for 2025. It requires sufficient final distributable earnings and approval at the 2027 shareholder meeting. The policy makes the payout ambition clearer; earnings and shareholder approval still determine payment.

$28m collected after power cuts, Lebanon’s electricity chief says. On 5 November, he said disconnecting non-paying public bodies brought in $28m against $298m in total dues. EDL is also reviewing tariffs and a mechanism linked to oil prices. The next test is whether collection continues beyond the initial payments. The reported receipts improve cash flow; lasting recovery needs regular payment.

¥500bn more operating profit is Toyota’s revised forecast. On 5 November, Toyota raised its forecast for the year ending March 2027 to ¥3.9tn from ¥3.4tn, while cutting expected revenue to ¥53.5tn from ¥54tn. The company cites lower tariff-related costs and expanded value-chain earnings among the supports for its outlook. Management must now deliver those improvements through the remaining fiscal half. A higher profit forecast alongside lower revenue puts the emphasis on margins rather than sales growth.

0.7% growth came with a smaller German rebound. September industrial output rose 0.7% month on month, data reported on 6 November showed. August’s gain was revised to 1.0% from 2.0%. A rebound in car production supported September’s increase. Output was 0.4% above a year earlier. Manufacturers deciding on capacity need to see whether growth spreads beyond that rebound. The revision weakens the evidence for a sustained industrial recovery.

165,000 US jobs added in October, with earlier estimates revised up. The 6 November labor report puts unemployment at 4.1%. August and September payroll gains were revised up by 84,000 combined. Average hourly pay rose 3.1% over 12 months. Payroll growth is seasonally adjusted and remains subject to revision. The 4 December report will show whether stronger hiring continues. One stronger month improves the employment picture; it does not establish a lasting acceleration.

6 November, Doha. Trump calls Qatar’s emir. Qatar’s official readout says the leaders discussed its effort to narrow differences and support negotiations toward a comprehensive agreement. Sheikh Tamim urged diplomacy, freedom of navigation and secure energy supplies. An agreement would need to turn those aims into commitments by the parties. The readout confirms contact at the top, not a settlement.

11–13% is Legrand’s new 2026 organic sales growth target. The electrical-equipment group raised it from 8–10% on 5 November after data-centre sales grew close to 40% organically over 9 months. Organic growth excludes currency and acquisition effects. The adjusted operating-margin target stays at 20.5–21%. Annual results on 10 February 2027 will test delivery against the higher forecast. Data-centre demand is lifting its growth outlook without a higher margin target.
