The focus should be on building, not just trading. the future of Base is still being written.
@jessepollak head of @base shares his perspective on the current on-chain landscape and why builders should stay focused despite market sentiment on live with @gmgnai
while traders worry about falling price ceilings and bearish sentiment, Jesse believes the real opportunity lies in building useful protocols, creating innovative projects, and bringing more creativity and entertainment on-chain.
crypto moves in cycles. Bull markets aren't always as good as they seem, and bear markets aren't always as bad. the people who keep building, experimenting, and creating value are the ones helping shape the future.π¦

0.5% of the total $MOTES supply is going to creators on Hazels
@meetmotes just launched its first campaign on hazels for NFT holders and stakers and it only started today
one thing Iβve learned from these campaigns is that joining early gives you more time to understand the rules and figure out how to compete
Iβm checking this one out early too

I usually think a derivative on GPU prices was a gimmick for traders.
Then I read how @injective built SICI, its new Super Intelligence Compute Index, and I think it's a thermometer for a cost most AI teams already carry with no way to hedge it. Here's the design π
β The index
SICI tracks rental prices for five Nvidia GPUs, with the H100 weighted at 40% and the B200 at 25%. The data comes from compute marketplaces compiled by London-based LO:TECH.
β The smoothing
It updates hourly using a trailing seven-day average of rental prices, so one noisy hour doesn't move the benchmark much.
β The market
A perpetual futures market tracks the index, with USDC as margin and up to 10x leverage.
β The two sides
Injective says developers can hedge rising compute costs, while GPU providers can protect against falling rental revenue.
Now the stakes.
My read: compute is becoming an input cost for every AI product, yet its price moves with demand. A startup whose costs jump mid-quarter can't easily re-price. A provider whose rental rates fall loses revenue it counted on. Two sides with opposite risks is exactly what a hedging market needs, as long as the benchmark between them can be trusted.
The contrast is what stuck with me:
Most onchain derivatives track what traders already watch.
This one tracks what builders already pay.
To be fair, 10x leverage magnifies losses as much as gains, and a hedge only works if it is sized like one. This is not financial advice.
My prediction: as AI spending grows, compute will get benchmarks the way oil did, and the benchmark that earns trust will be the one hardest to move.
This is insane!

What makes a meme coin community last beyond the initial hype?
It comes down to real people who believe in the vision, show up with genuine energy, and put in the work for the long term.
β Building communities that stand strong beyond the first week
β Bringing together dedicated builders and genuine onchain connections
β Focusing on long-term growth instead of short-term pumps
From Token2049 Singapore to the Coinbase trading competition, real community energy is what helps the Base ecosystem grow.
True conviction is what separates temporary hype from communities built to last.
