The attempt to arugula-ize Obama’s Cheesecake Factory comment is actually insane. The reason the joke landed is precisely *because* it was relatable to folks who go to the Cheesecake Factory. Elitism woulda been him referring to French Laundry as if everyone goes there. Just because conservative media elites are too dumb to get the joke doesn’t mean it was a bad joke. It just means they are dumb.
Moynihan on Obama’s Cheesecake Factory Comment: It struck me as how elitist he and the party that he continues to lead has become. It felt very reminiscent of the guns and religion. You are jabbing the people you’re trying to win over.

Per capita measures how often men in a group get convicted, not a woman's risk. She isn't raped by a rate, she's raped by a man, which is why the absolute number is the correct variable to measure the risk a White British woman is facing from all the different groups of men.
The left’s inability or unwillingness to understand per capita continues to be undefeated.

DSA National is pushing with both arms to alienate and undermine Nithya precisely because she is on the verge of achieving actual power for the anti-Zionist cause. They want it to remain a Posting Cause only so they can continue to center themselves.
The DSA National Political Committee has voted to unendorse and expel Nithya Raman She has until October 31 to express clear direct support for BDS to retain endorsement, and until January 1 to condemn weapon shipments for Israel out of LAX to remain a member of DSA Both resolutions are linked below

Everyday, a prominent Republican - the president, a cabinet official, a primetime Fox host, the Michigan Senate candidate - says something insanely racist about Muslims or Arabs. Meanwhile, my timeline is full of prominent Democrats and liberals getting mad about a random ad attacking Israel and screaming about antisemitism. Crickets from them on the out-of-control Islamophobia from the GOP.

Besides being nakedly racist and bigoted, this is just hilariously wrong on all levels. I mean, Omar Yaghi won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry last year, and he won the Wolf Prize in 2018. And that's just one example. He also said Arabs don't produce any literature. Last year's winner of the National Book Award was Lebanese writer and painter Rabih Alameddine. The winner in non-fiction? Egyptian-American journalist Omar El Akkad.

1/ The man most likely to rape a White British woman isn't on a small boat or an immigrant. He's her partner or her ex. The graph by @TheEconomist is doing rounds, and @RestoreBritain , @reformparty_uk and the rest of the circus of the self-appointed protectors of White British women think that it proves their made up point: that White British women's biggest danger is immigrant men. Well, data and facts say a different story, a story that the circus of the self-appointed protectors of White British women don't want normal people to know. Here's the data. 🧵

If Muslim people “get power, they’ll cut your head off as believers of Christ,” a former Southern Baptist minister reportedly said, at a Republican Party of Texas State Convention, in Houston. Recent, repeated attacks on Texas’s Muslim community have prompted fresh efforts to mobilize Muslim voters in the state. Although the group likely comprises less than two per cent of the state’s population, it could make a difference in this year’s unusually close contests. “The perception of most of the people is: ‘Red state, my vote doesn’t count,’ ” one resident said. “We have to vote,” said another. “We have to make a society where everyone respects everyone, regardless of their religion, their language, their looks, their skin, their gender.” Read Peter Slevin’s report on Texas’s Muslim voters and canvassers: newyorker.com/news/the-lede/…

What former Mossad chief David Barnea has revealed is a shocking admission of an intelligence operation that knowingly put 1000s of innocent Iranians at risk of imprisonment, torture, and execution, all to protect Israeli agents operating inside Iran. According to @Jerusalem_Post, Barnea acknowledged that Mossad deliberately publicized footage of its covert operations inside Iran during the June 2025 war, intending to provoke mass arrests and overwhelm Iranian security forces. “We wanted to make sure they arrested so many people in Iran that they wouldn’t be able to distinguish the wheat from the chaff,” he said. Barnea claimed that Iranian authorities arrested 21,000 people on the 2nd day of the war. He also acknowledged that many of those arrested or executed as alleged Mossad agents had nothing to do with the agency, while nearly all actual Mossad operatives escaped capture. Think about the extraordinary cruelty of that calculation. Israeli intelligence officials understood the nature of the govt they were dealing with: a repressive state with a documented record of arbitrary detention, torture, forced confessions, and executions. Yet, according to Barnea’s own account, they deliberately sought to exploit those very practices, making ordinary Iranians the expendable human cost of protecting their operatives. I think about the 1000s of families who may have been caught between an Israeli intelligence operation and an Iranian security apparatus gripped by fear of infiltration. The fathers and mothers of whose children disappeared into detention centers. The young people whose only political involvement may have been protesting for a better life. The students, workers, and ordinary citizens who could suddenly find themselves accused of collaborating with a foreign intelligence service. For them, an arrest is not a temporary inconvenience in an intelligence game. It can mean months or years in prison, torture, a coerced confession, a destroyed future, or a death sentence. Human rights organizations have documented how Iranian authorities used the war to intensify repression, including mass arrests and executions on allegations of espionage and collaboration with Israel. The Iranian government bears direct responsibility for every arbitrary arrest, every act of torture, and every unlawful execution. Nothing Israel did absolves Tehran of those crimes. But Israel cannot escape scrutiny and accountability for deliberately engineering conditions in which it knew innocent people could become targets of that repression. What Barnea describes is not simply clever intelligence work. It raises profound questions about the deliberate exploitation of foreseeable harm to civilians in pursuit of military and intelligence objectives. And perhaps the most disturbing part is the apparent indifference to what happened to those people afterward. For Mossad, the measure of success was whether its agents survived and escaped detection. For Iranian families, the consequences could last a lifetime. The lives of ordinary Iranians are not disposable assets in an intelligence operation. Their imprisonment, suffering, and deaths cannot be dismissed as the acceptable price of protecting foreign agents.. International humanitarian law does not give intelligence agencies a free pass to deliberately expose civilians to foreseeable harm. If Mossad intentionally provoked mass arrests in Iran, knowing that innocent people could face torture, imprisonment, or execution, this raises serious questions of international legal responsibility, including potential complicity in war crimes. As I said, Iranian government bears direct responsibility for its repression, but that does not absolve Israeli officials of responsibility for deliberately exploiting it. The lives of innocent civilians cannot be treated as expendable assets in an intelligence operation. This revelation deserves serious scrutiny, independent investigation. jpost.com/middle-east/iran-n…
