Putting aside extreme imposter's to share this publicly. Why is a dream coming true quite so terrifying?

Lol my name has been deleted 😭😭 No notice was served, No BLO visited my home. This process at least in Telangana was a real sham.
In the state of Telangana, the procedure and the guidelines of SIR was duly followed and enumeration forms (EFs)were distributed to all electors and filled in EFs were taken back and draft rolls were prepared after excluding the names from whom EFs were not received. The non-returned EFs consisted of persons who have died, permanently shifted, absent, duplicates. Out of total 3,38,26,448 Electors, in state of Telangana, 2,64,87,213 Electors have been included in the draft Roll. 73,39,235 Electors have been moved to ASDD Category, out of which, 57,46,803 Electors are Absent/Shifted, 9,22,229 Electors are in Dead category and 6,70,203 Electors are Duplicate Votes. The same were moved to ASDD Category. This was done only after House-to-House visit and due enquiry by BLOs and not done unilaterally. Also opportunity has been given to left out Electors during the period of Claims and Objections for filing their claims if any. Another opportunity by way of Special Camps on 15th and 16th, October, 2026 was taken up and ensured that *Every Eligible Elector is added and no ineligible elector remain in the Electoral Roll*. The whole process and procedures were duly followed. #ECI #CEOTelangana @ECISVEEP @SpokespersonECI

This must be opposed tooth and nail. There's no excuse for it. Roll it back.
I would appeal to all to oppose the Draft Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Control and Supervision of Experiment, Breeding and Trading of Laboratory Animals) Rules, 2026. The draft rules, circulated by the Centre, will allow capture and use of wild animals—including endangered or protected Show More species under vague "scientific justification”. The draft rules also permit experiments on community and free-ranging stray dogs and cats. The rules also accommodate extreme procedures, like electric shocks, prolonged isolation of animals like dogs and monkeys and induced tumors Animal lovers have opposed this. PETA India has demanded withdrawal of these draft rules. One thing is clear. Change in animal lab testing rules will encourage cruelty to animals. If ethics panel gets the powers for granting approval to such lab experiments, nobody can stop it. During lab tests, animals undergo insufferable pain, but they cannot express it like humans. Rabbits, rats, monkeys and dogs are kept in small cages in labs, they are given needle pricks regularly. Since they are animals, no consent can be taken. The ideal condition is: use of animals in lab trials must be kept to the bare minimum and care must be taken that the animals do not suffer pain. As far as possible, non-animal testing should replace animal testing, but the new draft rules will put the clock back. In many countries animal testing is difficult and costly, and India may be used as the place at cheap costs. This is dangerous. We should register our objections over these new draft rules. Since November 5 is the deadline, I would appeal to all to scan the relevant QR code to register your objections.

Tata is being criminally destroyed, and no business leader dares say a word. How long will you stay silent? Until they own you? Indian business is not Modi and Shah's plaything. You lack courage. We don't. We will ensure justice for these crimes.

Will you help me stop proposed rules that could put India's community dogs, wild animals and countless others at risk of painful laboratory experiments? We have less than 10 days to act. The thought of a trusting dog or a monkey suffering in a laboratory breaks my heart. India is already advancing modern, non-animal science. We must move forward, not backwards. Please join me. Animals cannot speak up for themselves, but we can speak up for them. ❤️ Support PETA India's appeal today: secure.petaindia.com/page/20…

Delighted to learn that the brilliant Mahmood Kooria has won a Leverhulme Prize. Richly deserved. I really enjoyed an event I did with him earlier this year at the @AsiaticSocMum on 'The Indian Ocean as Archive'. hca.ed.ac.uk/philip-leverhul…

Yesterday morning, two cheetahs hunted two calves near a village in Morena district. Villagers mob-lynched one of them, and the cheetah’s spine is almost broken. It is in critical condition and has been admitted to the Kuno Hospital. My question is to the Kuno cheetah tracking team where were these people at that time? Can the Kuno administration’s decision from 2–3 days ago succeed amid these incidents, in which they said they would free the cheetahs from the tracking team and now give them the freedom to roam freely in the jungle on their own with radio collars? #cheetah #cheetahinindia #cheetahproject

I have written to Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Thiru.@LalanSingh_1 urging him to review and withdraw the proposed Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Rules, 2026, in their current form. Diluting independent oversight, weakening safeguards and permitting broader exemptions for animal experimentation raise serious concerns. India must strengthen ethical research, protect animals and accelerate alternatives to animal testing. Science must advance with compassion, accountability and transparency. @mkstalin @Udhaystalin @arivalayam @dmk_youthwing @DMKITwing @dmksdwing @DMK_Chennai

Planting new trees doesn’t magically undo the destruction of an entire ecosystem. You cannot replace centuries of biodiversity with a few saplings. Companies that destroy our natural resources should face severe penalties, including permanent closure when warranted. We’ve reached a point where protecting the planet is treated as optional, and that needs to change.

And they have arrived in India ! Goosebumps ! The Amur falcons are back in Manipur, 11 days after leaving northeastern China. After all those moving dots we watched across continents and oceans, how lovely to know they are here again. And any guesses why they stop here? Yes, the termites ! As the monsoon retreats, winged termites emerge in enormous swarms across Manipur, Nagaland and neighbouring areas. Our tiny travellers arrive just in time for this feast, rich in the fat and protein that will help carry them to Africa. And what appetites ! Researchers estimate that a million Amur falcons can eat around two billion termites in just over a fortnight. Imagine that: an ocean crossing made possible by insects so small we barely notice them. For the next two to three weeks, they are expected to feast and rest in Tamenglong, watched over by communities who eagerly await their return. Then comes the leap that will have us holding our breath again: nearly 6,000 km to Somalia in around six days without landing, including some 3,000 km over the Arabian Sea. Come along. Our tiny superbirds have so much more to show us as Dr Suresh and team @WII track their incredible journey. @byadavbjp @moefcc @sureshwii @wii_india #AmurFalcons #BirdMigration #AmurFalconMigration
India, watch out for the incredible Amur falcons' journey again ! Remember Apapang, Alang and Ahu, the tiny falcons whose extraordinary journeys have kept so many of us watching and wondering ! Now they are back on our maps. Dr Suresh of the Wildlife Institute of India tells me both are still transmitting, while Ahu stopped transmitting last year. Apapang and Alang stayed in northeastern China longer than he had expected this season. Apapang and Alang have now begun their southward journey and are expected to reach Manipur around 20 October. For the past one year, we have been following these remarkable travellers across countries, continents and oceans. Somehow, seeing a familiar name transmitting again feels like hearing from an old friend. Come along ! Lets get ready to be stunned by this miracle of nature once again #AmurFalcons @sureshwii #BirdMigration @wii_india #AmurFalconMigration
