I want to train for a sub 60 at a hyrox in 2027 pro solo
Who wants to coach me? Or know a good coach to write my programming?
I am going to keep the same running coach but I need someone to program me specific stuff.
I will go sub 60.
Peak NYC running is when your on mile 12 of your 14 mile easy run and a guy is just posted up fishing on a pier blasting no air by jordan sparks and chris brown.. peak.
Gonna be a great day.
Have a really close friend who has never ran a marathon or road race before and just started running seriously around 6-8 months ago.
6’3 ~205. Big dude. Fuels and eats like a mad man.
Going for sub 3 @ Indy for debut road race.
These are his last big workouts.
5x5k with 1k float
2x6 mile 1 mile float
Do we think he can go sub 3? I think so.
@taggartvanetten need your opinion here..
What we think he should go out @ pace wise? I told him to send and see what happens…
Depends on where you are in your running journey.
The first “long run” I ever did was 8 miles and I felt on top of the world after.
And that feeling was amazing.
I started running right before the boom of the social media takeoff of this sport with influencers popping up left and right and I probably would have gone way harder in my training starting out if I saw and listened to what people said online now for no reason.
Now I see people just starting out running 70+ miles a week in their first training block and running so much more because that’s what they see online. I’ve realized this takes YEARS to get to high volume levels and being able to sustain that healthy.
Let’s get back to celebrating the season your in currently in your training vs what others are doing.
If 6,8,10 is long for you, don’t let others running 20+ on weekends who have been in the game for a while tell you differently.
What distance has to happen before you call it a long run?
5 miles?
8?
10?
Or is it just whatever is long FOR YOU?
Because 6 miles can be nothing special to one runner and the farthest another runner has ever gone.
That’s why I don’t think there can be one magic number for everybody.
What starts feeling like a long run to you?
Good workout this morning with @JackAnderson_8 in Central Park
2 miles @ 5:45
3 min jog
2 miles @ 5:45
3 min jog
1 mile @ 5:28
10 total miles @ 6:27 pace
Workout defined “so simple it’s hard”
Always feels like a roller coaster ride doing speed work in CP with the hills. Bombing the downs. Attacking the climbs.
But
One thing that’s slept on I’ve noticed doing a hilly route is how fast I am able to recover at the top of hill and get back down to pace or continue to push the down after the climb. Today I felt like I recovered extremely well.
July weather in an October tho..
Free fitness.
