Faces in Tombone are driven the same way as Mega Man Legends. Two controllers for the eyes and mouth, the face is a single sheet. I export the indicies as curves for playback at runtime via material. Blender and Unreal display the same so we can preview the work easily!

I took the app for a test run around Chicago and wow
So I recently badgered my cinematographer @steveyedlin into making my ideal iPhone still camera app. It shoots RAW, bypasses the iPhone's look processing and instead uses the same image processing we use on our movies. apps.apple.com/app/apple-sto…

So… who else walked out of Wildwood utterly sobbing 🥹
My creative friends, I truly urge you to go experience the miracle of this film. It feels like gazing into the very core of artistic spirit and love for art. Handmade art.
It is the most incredible thing I have ever seen…
Mfw I ignore Superman entirely and have to pit my simplest countable infinity team of ℕ Iron Men up against my friends' own infinite teams of Iron Men, but they're only ℤ and ℚ

if you work on this kinda shit you probably should be ostracised from society and maybe imprisoned or worse ngl this is absolute traitor-to-the-human-species shit
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks.
By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time.
Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.

This was the craziest shit I’ve ever seen you simply need to go see it
LAIKA's ‘WILDWOOD’ has the largest battle sequence ever for a stop-motion film.
• Spans 12 minutes with over 400 shots
• Contains approx 3,000 characters
• 5 distinct sets were made — all combined were larger than the length of a building
• One person was specifically hired to track scarring & scratching on the lead character throughout the battle to ensure maximum detail

Not to be dramatic but Wildwood was maybe the coolest and most beautifully animated film I’ve ever seen in my life.
The stop-motion animation work behind LAIKA’s WILDWOOD (2026) is absolutely insane.
136 handcrafted sets, over 200 practical puppets and 49 animators working across 231 weeks, with some shots producing just 1–4 seconds of animation per week.

My wife and I went to watch this yesterday–
You know how people talk about how advanced science is indistinguishable from magic?
That’s the level these Laika animators are operating on.
Hand-made magic born from human passion, skill and effort. Breathtaking.
I think Laika kind of shoots themselves in the foot by being TOO good. The level of detail and smoothness in the animation is so high, it's comparable to computer-animated films.
Except everything was meticulously crafted by hand, frame-by-frame. I just can't even fathom it.

Me and my friends genuinely forgot this film was stop motion MULTIPLE times while we watched
Insanely well crafted, animated, and beautiful
PLEASE go see this movie
