SPAIN: A group of transgender police officers who were arrested for domestic violence-related crimes have filed a discrimination complaint because they were charged "as men." They allege the charges do not apply to them because they are legally "female." reduxx.info/spain-transgende…

This Bill does not speak for all lesbian, gay and bisexual people. Charlotte is speaking up because children who may grow up LGB deserve adults who can say plainly that being gay is good and normal. Add your name to the LGB open letter: lgballiance.org.uk/conversio… #ItsOkayToBeGay

"We as a government are committed to act in accordance with the law and expect all public bodies to act in accordance with the law". Well there you go health boards of Wales. What's stopping you? @Heledd_Plaid is telling you to pull your socks up and amend any unlawful policies that you still have. Women's rights are protected in law and men should not be in women's wards or women's single sex spaces at all. We keep hearing that health boards are waiting for guidance from @WelshGovernment. Yet Welsh Government have amended their own policies 'on the quiet', and are making clear their expectation, while health boards are still exposed to financial and legal risk while they endlessly 'wait'. @AneurinBevanUHB @HywelDdaHB @CwmTafMorgannwg @BetsiCadwaladr @PTHBhealth @SwanseabayNHS @CV_UHB
NHS England has FINALLY banned biological males from women’s spaces, following the Supreme Court ruling that ‘sex means biological sex’. I asked the Welsh Government for an urgent statement reassuring us that NHS Wales will soon follow suit, because women and girls in Wales have waited far too long for these basic protections. #NHSWales #BasicWomensRights #Sexmeansbiologicalsex #safety #Dignity

1/ We’ve written to the Secretary of State for Equalities concerning misinformation that appeared in an article she wrote over the weekend. It’s important that the debate around the draft conversion bill is accurate and the Minister should promote this. gaymensnetwork.co.uk/letters

"People" do not menstruate. "People" do not have ovaries. "People" do not get pregnant. Women do. To suggest otherwise is absurd. Health boards and public bodies must drop this woke nonsense and focus on the day job southwalesargus.co.uk/news/2…

Sadly the other so-called 'women's rights' CPG she's joined instead is focused on equality for all women, men & non-binary people. It's not underpinned by the law nor by feminism. It's also run by a bloke. Guess that's what @Plaid_Cymru's vision of 'gender equality' is all about.
We provide the secretariat for the Senedd CPG on Women's Rights jointly with @WRNWales, so won't comment in detail on this story. We want the group to be a success and its purpose aligns with statements made by @PrifWeinidog and @Plaid_Cymru Ministers in the Siambr. We are sad that Safa Elhassan has left and surprised and disappointed that the quote the party apparently provided on her behalf implies that there is something wrong with our values. MSs from all political parties, including Plaid, are always welcome to attend future meetings. nation.cymru/news/plaid-cymr…

No patient can consent to an unevidenced treatment; their age is irrelevant (see next post for sources). That should save time next Thursday to ask instead: 1. Why has the NHS not published its updated clinical guidance reflecting the lack of evidence for cross-sex hormones for minors? 2. Why has DHSC failed to act on rogue private providers supplying these drugs to minors? 3. Why is PATHWAYS lining up children for a double-unevidenced combination of blockers and hormones? whatson.parliament.uk/event/…

Cathy Larkman, a director at Women's Rights Network, said: ‘WRN members who work in the NHS tell us that militant activist staff have been doing their best to ignore the law for the last 18 months, so we suspect they will continue to try to override this guidance. ‘It’s vital that the NHS shows strong leadership and robust management to stop this – we will be watching their actions closely.’ dailymail.com/news/article-1…

Why are sports such as Wales Netball asking children as young as seven years old to state their sexual orientation when applying for membership? @mimsdavies MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Wales, has raised our concerns about sports overreach in her column for @WalesOnline. Underage children must not be asked questions like this simply to join a sports governing body. We will be taking this up with Wales Netball, we are interested to find out why they want to know if seven-year-olds are bisexual or heterosexual… 🤷🏻‍♀️ walesonline.co.uk/news/polit…
SHOCKING: Wales Netball is asking children in the 7–11 age band to declare if they are gay, bisexual, or heterosexual. When parents sign their girls up to play netball, they expect safety and sportsmanship - not questions about self-identity and sexual orientation. One concerned mum told us exactly what happened when she tried to sign her 11-year-old daughter up for Wales Netball. WRN Wales independently tested the same application process today and can confirm both questions appear as described. 🧵👇 1/4

It is clear Bridget hasn’t read her own bill. This article is full of warm, soothing words that are a world away from the realities of this bill. The draft bill is full of significant consequences for lesbian and gay rights, for families, for faith organisations and much more. It needs detailed scrutiny by Parliamentarians to protect rights we have taken for granted for decades and more. I urge people to read the bill for themselves so you can understand the road it is taking us down.

Nansi Williams was a dinner lady at Pantglas Junior School when the slurry hit. She threw herself over the children nearest to her. Five survived. She didn’t. On 30 October a Purple Plaque will bear her name. Today we remember #Aberfan, and Nansi. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cw1m…

What does this mean? A gender-critical parent who doesn't believe in the concept of gender identity who, say, refuses to buy their child a binder or puberty blockers (abusive economic pressure) and is perceived to have caused their child serious alarm or distress could find themselves being reported to and investigated by the police.

I went to this session with a fairly bog standard left wing 'stay and make a noise' argument. I'm still not convinced that's entirely wrong. But I was struck by the number of women ex-trade unionists who spoke about the depths of betrayal, disrespect, and even contempt that they've faced. I think many union leaders are isolated from their members by a kind of crisis of internal democracy - they live in a bubble and they don't have any real conception of the antipathy that is felt towards them both by women members and this who have left. This is really serious. And really bad for the labour movement. So, reflecting.
A discussion about the failure of unions in the face of GC harassment. @DarlingtonUnion's Bethany's talk amazing. She ended with unions have abandoned us to let's rebuild. @RosieDuffield1 smash the unions? Yes. @runthinkwrite distinguish between leadership and role of trade unionists "I don't need an additional HR department that I pay subs to for them to police my views" @JimButcher2 had to leave the union for moral grounds because of their support for harming children.
