Florence, who fled war in DR Congo and rebuilt her life in Uganda, reminded me why refugees must not be stereotyped.
She is a resourceful single mother, an entrepreneur boosting the local economy and a community leader — thanks to Uganda’s refugee policies.

PS @tybisa on refugee resettlement question: @NLinUganda supports Uganda’s open door policy for refugees in appreciation of the fact that we do not settle refugees in camps but communities, where their dignity is preserved. If there is a consideration, it must be from that perspective. As and when they formally reach out to us, we shall engage @OPMUganda which is responsible for refugees in UG for them to discuss viability.
