The Trump administration admitted in court that it canceled billions of dollars in federal funding “based solely” on whether a state voted for Trump. Using taxpayer dollars to reward political allies and punish opponents is not democracy. It’s authoritarianism.

@TTCStuart how about on the 320 as well? Morning after morning the 320 heading north is packed with no way to social distance. Increase service on the Finch line too.

It will come as little surprise that the top 3 areas of concern identified by respondents in the CHRC's 'Monitoring the #CRPD' survey: Poverty Housing Work & Employment #DisabilityRights #HumanRights @CDNpoli
We heard from nearly 3,000 people across Canada this summer in our survey on monitoring the #CRPD. The preliminary feedback shows that Canada has more work to do when it comes to #DisabilityRights:

FYI: In answers provided to community advocates in relation to a recent Q&A session on ODSP (& OW), the ON govt has confirmed in writing, that the current definition of "disability" used by #ODSP will indeed NOT be changed after all. Finally.
Report’s 3 recommend's: 1. close the gap between current SA rates & the actual cost of basic necessities 2. (keep) the current definition of disability under #ODSP 3. all levels of govt look at decisions that they're making thru a poverty lens. #ONpoli cornwallseawaynews.com/2020/…

remember - every time someone is evicted in Toronto - the unit they vacate, the rent goes up. every eviction, we lose that affordable unit. @KeepYourRent and #NoCovidEvictions is a BATTLE for Toronto. COVID will make this city more unaffordable if we don't fight NOW.
THREAD: VICTORY FOR TENANTS! On October 3, @TPS55Div came to enforce an illegal eviction in #CrescentTown at 1:30 a.m. Organized neighbours said this eviction was abusive and unlawful. Yesterday, the LTB said we were right—and the tenant got her home back! /1 #NoCovidEvictions

.@TimbercreekAM’s staff and security tried to spook tenants into leaving by calling the police. Officers came and said they “wouldn’t want anyone to get hurt” if people refused to leave. Tenants stayed and firmly demanded a meeting which they got.

Tenants facing renoviction at 14 Wadsworth saw today that they have support from tenants in Weston and across the city as they fight back against their landlord. Thanks to @YSWtenants and @KeepYourRent for supporting.
As long as the mayor and city council are complicit in tenants being forcibly removed from their homes by Toronto Police they can't claim to be "creating capacity" for people to come inside. #NoCovidEvictions
Replying to @cityoftoronto
The City continues to create capacity for people living in encampments to come inside during COVID-19. Today’s ruling does not order the City to clear encampments, rather the ruling does not prevent the clearing of an encampment when shelter & housing options become available.
