Until recently, I never understood politics enough to have more than a passing interest, though I have always voted. Thanks to @IanDunt @campbellclaret @RoryStewartUK & @mrjamesob for the podcasts that have changed my understanding & undoubtedly contributed to changing our govt.

In 10 hours, polling stations across the country will open. We have a real chance of victory here in North West Cambridgeshire - let's get out there and vote for change. (Polls open 7am-10pm - don't forget photo ID!)

Election tomorrow. FIND YOUR PHOTO ID. PUT IT IN YOUR POCKET OR BAG. The address DOESN'T need to match your constituency or current address. This is just to prove your ID. Passport, driving license, PASS card or Voter Certificate, or this stuff: electoralcommission.org.uk/vโ€ฆ

Enjoyed all recent @RestIsPolitics interviews with current shadow cabinet members but feel frustrated @RoryStewartUK seems dissatisfied with both idealism & realism. One is naive & the other not ambitious enough. Which is preferable?

A clear, easy to understand & enlightening listen @IanDuntโฉ passion for better politics is backed up by knowledge and clarity. Case studies moved me to tears; there must be a more compassionate system. I am a little sad there are no Humphreys after all! audible.co.uk/pd/B0BK97GW4N?โ€ฆ

*Now* she wants to keep an eye on corruption???? These people are so beyond belief that if it were a novel plot line an editor would say the characters were not creditable. The hypocrisy is incredible.
We also need to keep a close eye on the careers of the Conservative MPs who sat on that committee. Do they suddenly find themselves on chicken runs into safe seats? Gongs? Were promises made? We need to know if they were. Justice has to be seen to be done at all levels of this process.

I think the replies to this have won the internet for today ๐Ÿคฃ
Replying to @IanDunt
However, if everyone could refrain from their toe-curling it's-a-game-of-two-halves football metaphors when writing about all this, that would be great.

Since Twitter will soon die and all record will be gone, how about a few MPs using it to admit Brexit was a terrible idea? Just a thought. What harm could it do at this point?!

This is an act of genius.
Stunning and devastating opening from Newsnight tonight. Harsh, yes. Media students (and current broadcast journalists!) take note: your edit is nothing without the right choice of music. And oh boy this is quite the choice.

I have to confess that I had never *really* understood how a government with a huge majority in Parliament could simply implode while in power, to the extent that it became simply incapable of remaining in office. The period from 1903 to 1905 is making a lot more sense now.
In 1900, the Tories won a landslide majority. By 1905, they were so divided they resigned without waiting for an election. In between, they embraced an ideological trade policy designed to restore British greatness & fund better services. Today's teaching has a familiar ring...

Tesco playlist on fire today. In there 3 mins & heard the lyrics โ€œliving in a world of fools, breaking us downโ€ & โ€œif you ever change your mind about leaving usโ€. Do they have a special one for when we need a #GeneralElectionNow ?
