USDC.I use it constantly for payments, bridging, and parking between trades. The problem is the second it sits onchain everyone can see the balance, the flow, and who I’m paying. A wrapped confidential version means splitting liquidity, extra friction, and another token to manage. I’d rather just flip the same USDC into confidential mode when I need it and back when I don’t. No new asset, no separate market, same thing I already hold. That’s the version that actually gets used.

On Fluton the intent itself stays encrypted. You don’t broadcast “swap X of A for B via this path.” You send an encrypted intent, and the FHE layer lets the system fulfill it without the solvers or relayers ever seeing the details. That’s the difference between private settlement and just hiding the final transfer.

Quantum talk usually focuses on signatures getting broken. The more annoying part onchain is that data you encrypt today can get decrypted later and wipe out all the past privacy.FHE schemes are lattice-based, so they don’t carry that risk directly. Unlike ECC, there’s no known quantum shortcut for them. That’s why it makes sense to build the infrastructure this way now: so you don’t have to patch the encryption layer later.
