November 6, 2020: Steve Cohen closed his $2.4 billion deal to purchase the @Mets. “This is a significant milestone in the history of this storied franchise. I want to thank everybody who helped make this happen. Let’s go Mets!”
November 3, 2003: Former @Mets manager Bobby Valentine announces he will return to Japan to manage the Chiba Lotte Marines, the club that fired him after a solid second-place finish in 1995. Valentine signs a three-year deal with an option for an estimated $6.4 million.
Good news on Jared Young. About six weeks after suffering a concussion from a knee to the head, Young is reportedly feeling much better, with full feeling back in his arms and hands. He is expected to compete for the starting job at first base next spring.
November 2 @Mets Birthdays: Greg Harris (71), Bill Connors (1941-2018), and Denyi Reyes (30) 🎂🎉🥳
Soon after Frank Cashen was hired as @Mets GM in November 1980, he was asked over and over about what the team needed. In an open letter to fans he zeroed in on “power, pitching and an improved bench.”
