Excellent
How much time during the Galway West Bye Election campaign did journalists spend canvassing with Labour and the Soc Dems in Galway in order to get a sense of the mood on the ground...?
The whole thing is utterly outrageous and thoroughly unsurprising
The official response from the Jewish Representative Council of Ireland. ⬇️
I would urge the @greenparty_ie @SocDems and @IrishLabParty consider the implications of this along with the legacy parties on @DubCityCouncil. I think they are distinct from SF and can see the hurt this will cause.
So after Irish media spent the entire day yesterday quoting speculative and unrepresentative turnout figures without context, as if they were fact instead of guesswork, and trying to imply projections based on this, turnout actually *increased*. As always, a waste of time #Aras25

People are basically abandoning/discarding the word "whom." They use "who" in most contexts where they should use "whom."
It's a shame.
A reminder that Irish media are going to spend the day talking about purely speculative, finger-in-the-air turnout figures from random boxes while presenting them as if there was any kind of formal, scientific monitoring of representative turnout actually happening

Great news from @Paschald that the exit tax for ETFs is being reduced! Something I have been campaigning for and a great move for Irish people and families investing for the future. A positive start for building a culture of investment! #Budget2026 #SIU

The real test of EU strength on trade is not retaliating against Trump but whether it can face down internal opponents of a Mercosur trade agreement declared to be concluded.

Today marks the 250th anniversary of Daniel O'Connell's birth. Few can rival his contributions to the Irish Nation - principally his crowning achievement in bringing about Catholic Emancipation & ending many of deeply unjust penal restrictions faced by Irish Catholics.
His detractors might sneer at ‘the king of the beggars’, but for Daniel O'Connell (b. #OTD 1775) there was no shame or loss of stature in being supported by the subscriptions of the people to whose welfare & interests he dedicated his life. dib.ie/biography/oconnell-da… #DIBLives

In June 2024, Connolly launched Kremlin Clare Daly’s re-election campaign, calling her a “beacon of hope”. Catherine Connolly and Clare Daly are Putin/Assad apologists/conspiracy theorists, and your backing of Connolly has shown you up for your moral bankruptcy. #aras25
Delighted to support @catherinegalway campaign to be the next President of Ireland.
Catherine has a strong track record of being a fearless voice on institutional abuse, on neutrality and most importantly for me, speaks with moral clarity on the genocide in Gaza.
A Catherine Connolly supporter. Now a Labour one too?
Replying to @MicMacW
Zelensky is a dictator fronting a nazi regime who's got a million of his people killed so the US can destabilise Russia..She was dead right..
A big test for the Irish media over the coming months as to whether they can take off their own ideological lenses and actually subject their preferred candidate to proper scrutiny, or whether the soft coverage of the Higgins presidency is extended to the next Galway socialist
Fascinating how many media commentators who wouldn’t go to Mass in a million years saying Pope Francis didn’t do enough etc
The future of European security is being decided in London and the Irish are at home talking about Dáil speaking rights. So much for taking your place among the nations of the earth...
French Communist party calls for a deal with Moscow. Old habits die hard etc
