In their first semester of the Great Books program, Pepperdine students enter the Great Conversation by reading the foundational texts of Western Civilization, including:
Homer, The Odyssey
Sophocles, Oedipus the King
Plato, Republic
Aristotle, Nicomachean Ethics
Virgil, Aeneid
At Pepperdine, we believe the Great Books offer something profoundly countercultural by engaging with the deepest questions of human life: What is justice? What is love? What does it mean to be free, to suffer, to lead, to worship, to hope?
Study the most influential texts in the classical tradition at the most stunning campus in America — a place where beauty calls you deeper into the pursuit of truth.

When Erika Kirk spoke the words on the man who killed her husband: “That man… that young man… I forgive him.” That moment deeply affected me. I have struggled for over 60 years to forgive the man who killed my Dad. I will say those words now as I type: “ I forgive the man who killed my father.”
Peace be with you all.

Thank you, @abc7Carley @ABC7, for joining us at today’s 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony and for speaking with @pepperdine Ambassadors Council member Spencer Mueller.
KTLA is on site to cover Pepperdine’s Waves of Flags display. It was around this time, 24 years ago, that I arrived on base at MCRD San Diego and learned that a plane had struck the World Trade Center in NYC. Today, we remember 9/11 and the 2,977 lives lost on that terrible day. We remember.

Careful. It'll drop you like a bag of dirt. Be the bigger succulent and walk away. 🌵
A few weeks ago, Michelle and I were invited to a weekend getaway at Ruby Ranch in Moorpark, California, to rest while a kind soul watched our son Zachary back home. You see, we are parents of a special boy with Cri du Chat Syndrome who needs…
When our baby boy came into the world and we were confronted by the realization that Zach had significant special needs, my wife Michelle cried out to God, “How are we going to take care of this precious boy?” She heard God’s answer in that moment, “I will take care of you and I will provide.” And looking back 11 years, God has provided. This weekend was…
…another incredible demonstration of God’s faithfulness and love toward us. Thank you Jimmy and may God bless Jordan’s House for many, many parents to come. itsjordanshouse.org/
