So quite a few people now have asked me, mostly friends, why am I even bothering with getting into politics — why spend so much of my time and so many of my posts on X supporting Restore Britain? I understand their viewpoint, most people who are interested in reading do so to escape the real world dramas. Most writers wouldn’t, because if I am trying to build an audience, shouldn’t I just avoid politics and focus entirely on my books and promoting that when I have things to show? You could alienate a lot of readers by getting political. That is true, and my goal is a long term one, I want to write 100 books all considered greats within the same fictional world of my creating. That is a lifetime goal, so why, when I haven't even finished the first book and have spent years world-building, would I now risk ruining that goal by attracting only political followers and dividing my audience?” Well, I live here that is why. I do not want to get into politics; I would much rather spend all my time on my dream. Just writing my books and telling the stories I want to tell — just all around making something people will love one day. If you can make something that takes peoples mind of their troubles, even for a little while and it helps bring them enjoyment, that’s a good thing to do in my opinion. It may not be building bridges or roads, defending the nation or curing illnesses and inventing new amazing things. There are far more important people doing those things than me. However, I realise if there is no recognisable country left to live in how can I do that freely. Those content on this globalist utopia also seem content on shutting down free speech. The UK has now become a society that gives the state increasingly broad powers to punish expression. That should make every person uncomfortable, regardless of whose speech is currently being targeted. Somehow, we have reached a point where political disagreement is increasingly treated as a question of good people and bad people, to disagree with somebody now is considered wrong or unacceptable. So now we are seeing the cancelling of books and the arresting of people for words spoken. We are going down a very dark path here. So, we must stand against it before the worst comes to pass. I am choosing the political position I believe gives me the greatest ability to remain an independent writer. So, I am going to vote for the party that provides the solution where I do not live in fear of my entire life suddenly being over because one of my books offended somebody. That is entirely against what a writer is supposed to be, I would argue that I would not be a writer, I would be an approved propagandist, working within the limits of what is approved narrative. I don't know where this path ultimately leads. I don't know whether supporting this will cost me opportunities, readers or the future audience I dream of having. But I know which cost I would rather pay. If the cost of me doing this, supporting Restore Britain and getting political is a small audience and me never going mainstream. So be it. I would rather be a small time writer getting by, with the ability to write anything I want to write than a sell-out who obeys the rules, never upsets anyone and makes a lot of money. I am an aspiring writer. I don't want politics to consume my life. But precisely because I want to be a writer, I care deeply about whether I remain free to write. I also care deeply about the environment I live in and do not want to continue watching it go downhill. Some of the choices we have to make will be painful. They will cost us something. Like a gardener, you have to maintain the garden and look after it, or else the nettles and weeds grow. A good thing doesn't remain good automatically. In the same way, a country does not improve simply because the calendar moves forward. You have to maintain it and work at it. The same principle applies to a country. We have become far too negligent with politics and allowed our leaders to get away with some unspeakable, self-serving acts. Patriots, be steadfast. Do not be deterred. We can win. We can restore our country to what it once was. We just have to show interest in politics again. In many ways, it can be argued that we are part of the problem for ignoring things for so long, simply expecting them to happen automatically. So when people ask me why I bother, it infuriates me on some level. I understand the question — it's politics, nobody likes it — but I would ask: why do you cut your grass? The answer is easy. Because it was becoming a problem, and I have to live with it. So there you go. Why do I get involved in politics? Because it's become a problem for me, and I have to live here. The establishment likes to tell you it's all pointless, that you're never going to win, that nothing will change. But if we believe that, we guarantee that nothing will change. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy! We need to remind them who is actually in charge. The people are the boss of government. We cannot keep saying that, then ignoring politics because it is annoying, and be surprised when government stops serving the people. We shall defend our island whatever the cost may be! No! 🤦‍♂️ why don't people understand this, if you care about something, you fight for it. You stand firm on your beliefs, not surrender them. If you have to surrender them, then you're just going to fail when you get in because you can't please everyone. Your base is upset because you compromised, and the new ones are upset because you're still trying to please your base. Meanwhile, to the rest you just look dishonest, because you are trying to please everyone so they don't vote at all. It is better to present your case. Stand firm to it, then work to bring as many as you can, aiming for a majority, but as many as you can to your position. Shift the Overton window to your stance then present your case and earn their vote. People will find you alot more trustworthy as you are not constantly chasing everybody else's votes. Where does this notion that surrendering and compromise for the sake of the country come from? It sounds like Chamberlin to me, weak surrender. It just sounds like something a loser says to help them cope after a loss. " We didn't surrender, we stood down for the sake of others" yeah, yeah sure buddy 😏🙄 This is why I'm voting @RestoreBritain they so far have remained firm and consistent.

Bullshit, they would let in the other side, we all know it. This is just cowardice hiding behind the non political stance. If it was truly non political they wouldn't give a crap about poppy's or Palestine flags, they would be saying the more the merrier both have money. The thing is everything is political to somebody, so you can't get away from it. If you try to please everybody, you will end up upsetting somebody.

🚨Restore Tangible Achievement's Post/Feed🚨 I have an an Idea. So, Reformers often ask me what has Restore actually accomplished so far since being set up. Now given it’s only 8 months old as a party as of me posting this on 24th October 2026, they are still building, and I suspect what Reformers mean is tangible things, so I will stick to these things not just polls and % climbs. 1) Restore have actually been out and about cleaning up the areas with litter picking, actually cleaning up our streets and country. 2) Supporting local businesses such as pubs by holding branch meetings there or giving trade to these places during campaign trails and posting and promoting them. 3) Restore have been busy developing highly detailed policy papers ready to read and understand.
