No moral victory BS here, only sobering truth. I have nothing to sell you. Nor do I have to care what any SID or coach thinks. There was never a moment it felt like Michigan was going to win this game, despite pushing it to overtime. Nothing looked smooth or executed rightly on offense. Everything was off and labored, even went it produced a positive result. The missed chip shot FG was the cosmic forces of the game punishing us for perhaps the worst goal line play call in the history of intercollegiate football the down before. Beck should’ve been fired at halftime and never allowed to coach at Michigan ever again. Indiana also went into an offensive shell in the second half knowing our offense is primordial ooze, so the defensive performance — while overall terrific — was also aided by that. You saw in OT the minute Hoosiers had to have it, they went right in and scored in two plays like a knife through butter. That’s the stuff we used to do to close things out, but Indiana is the superior program now. We are a broken program. A school with no president, no AD, an OC that makes Kirk Campbell look like Bill Walsh, and a doddering head coach looking ahead to his shuffle board PR or retirement rides to Sturgis. Multiple head coaches/OCs unable to develop even an average quarterback for three straight years now. Tommy showed nothing today he can become that. He was more poised than Bryce, but that’s a very low bar. And Tommy was the best offensive weapon the Hoosiers had in the first half with his mistakes. He directly assisted on all their points. Not his fault at all, he played his guts out and it was right to start him given what we have. But given who we are (were) he also should’ve never been in there. Even Bluebonnet Bowl teams of Michigan’s past would’ve never sunk to needing him. People are going to fool themselves with what ifs looking for any signs of hope here, but there aren’t any. This is the absolute best we can play against a good team given the current structure of our program, and it resulted in six points at home. And three of those came with the ball gifted at the Indiana 11-yard line. This was Pinstripe Bowl Penn State team almost beating national champion Indiana last year. Or Michigan losing 42-41 to a way better Ohio State team in 2013, only to be firing Brady Hoke a year later. The flukes and letdown spots you see during the ebbs and flows of a long season, particularly when proud programs are cornered and shoot whatever wad they have left and still fall short. Sure, Indiana probably has a great defense. But this is how the offense looked against Western Michigan and Minnesota, who don’t. We’ve been shutout in the first half at home in consecutive weeks since before JFK was assassinated and Kyle Whittingham was potty trained. Jason Beck ought to go missing faster than you can say Jim Boccher. This is going nowhere. We need a new AD in place ASAP. Preferably an adult with vision who’s made major decisions at the highest levels of college sports, and not someone who checks a political agenda box for weasel academics who hate football anyway, or went to school here 30 years ago but wouldn’t be a candidate for any of our competitive peers. Don’t take the cheese. There’s nothing to build off of here. We’re not better at anything after this game than we were going in. Indiana tried to give us a landmark win and we still couldn’t take it. This thing needs rebooted with a younger and way more ruthless head coach. You know, like a Dusty May. In the meantime keep enjoying the memories and merch from 2023. I know I sure will. Onto hockey and hoops.

Yesterday’s not coincidental AD search commencing announcement means it’s more likely than it was 48 hours ago Whittingham won’t be back.
Here are my full predictions on what happens - Kyle Whittingham gets a 2nd year (unless we go 4-8 or 5-7) - Jason Beck is gone - Bryce Underwood is gone - Starting QB is from the portal -New AD and president get in place and ready to make a big hire if next year is bad

With today's AD search announcement, which obviously came out of nowhere to be specifically timed given current unfortunate events, no one is safe next year now.

If Michigan loses to Rutgers do you think they’ll make any changes or is this staff guaranteed a second year?

Back in August, imagine learning Julian Sayin would be done for the year, Oregon would be out of the playoff race before Michigan even goes there, and we'd beat Oklahoma. What do you think our record would be? 11-1? 12-0? In reality we may not even make a bowl game.

Quite literally delusional.
NEW: Michigan head coach Kyle Whittingham on a potential coordinator change: "Right now it's not the time to panic. We're a play away from 6-1 or 7-0." (via @TheWolverineOn3) on3.com/news/kyle-whittingha…

I’ve been saying it for years. Goff is quietly putting together a Canton resume.
The complete list of QBs with 200 Pass Yards, a Pass TD, and 0 INT in each of their team's first 6 games of a season 2026 Jared Goff That's it

Reupping after yet another fumble to open second half. Instead of going up three scores and putting this away, gonna crush what’s left of their season today. Same. Old. Lions.
Cursed franchise. It will never end. Fumble caused by your own lineman? Same old Lions stuff.

Makes no difference against this defense. Someone is ALWAYS wide open.
Packers down to their 3rd string center

Both Michigan and the Lions are going to have their seasons completely undone by terrible coordinators, with the other side of the ball championship good.

Beck should never be permitted to work another day here after seeing this stat.
Michigan's defense has held all 7 opponents to 20 points or fewer. Since 2014, FBS teams that do that win 87% of the time. Michigan is 4-3. Jason Beck has to go. Now. Here's the data. 🧵
