Spoken like a non business owner.
in every cycle there's people writing about how certain businesses will fail because of all these problems but the entire process of building a business is solving problems one by one people have a tough time imagining that all the people working there can figure it out

Oh, what's the matter? Have you all lost your moat?
the mathematicians pushing back on AI say that it might help with proofs, but not our HUMAN UNDERSTANDING of math. so I got curious how chess players think AI engines help them better understand chess. and found this clip of Magnus Carlsen: “the neural nets have improved our understanding of the game immensely.” watch his HUMILITY towards these engines: “it’s just that my understanding is not good enough. And that is useful.” “I rarely play against engines at all because they just make me feel so stupid and useless.”

I really wount admit that I'd worked there once. Akin to saying you once worked as a nazi foot soldier.
Yesterday was my last day at Anthropic. I created Claude Code on desktop because I believe everyone can be a builder. Every feature request and bug report we got from this community was a gift that impacted millions of lives. I’m eternally grateful for those gifts, the product wouldn’t be what it is without you. Anthropic is doing some of the most important work of our time. Contributing to that mission will forever be a career highlight for me. I never imagined I’d get to contribute to something so special in my lifetime. Walking away from my best friends, a product I poured my heart into, and the mission was the hardest thing I’ve done in my career. But now I have some free time for GTA VI. I'm already itching to get back to addressing all your feedback. I'll share what's next soon!

I'll see you at the job centre on Monday.
I’ve left Anthropic after more than a year of working on Claude Code and seeing it scale larger than I ever imagined. I have really loved working at Ant and believe deeply in the mission, and most of all, the idea of a race to the top. The idea that if we work hard and responsibly, we can raise the bar and inspire others to great outcomes. And if we all push each other to be better, things can be radically good. I will carry the spirit of this with me forever. My colleagues at Anthropic are the most talented, thoughtful, competent, and earnest people I have ever met. I am glad they are at the wheel and trust them deeply. To the community on X, thank you for everything. You’ve made this the most fun (and sometimes stressful) job I’ve ever had. For me, it is time for a bit of a break before diving into something new. If you want more excellent Claude Code content, you should follow @addyosmani , @lydiahallie, @_catwu, @ClaudeDevs and of course @bcherny who started it all.

The only lesson you've learned here is that a little knowledge is dangerous and anybody who has half a brain thinks that they're the smartest person in the world. Until they're not.
I'm old enough to remember when 'C++ slop' was the battle cry of 'real' coders. Then it was 'Unity slop' and 'Unreal slop' from those who thought hand-rolled engines were superior in every way. Now it's AI slop. People draw a line on the abstraction hierarchy below which they are happy to automate the tedium. The line just moved... that's all. Skilled people will still make superior software. We have been inundated with low quality slop since the birth of digital distribution decades ago. It's nothing new.

As long as opencode doesn't deliberately get in the way of you building because it wants to be centre stage all the time. Never met a more jealous app, can't share or play nice with other AI's that are as smart
there's way too much obsession with being at "cutting edge" right now as though it has to do with what tools you picked it's all about how you use them and your creativity. people doing great work can do it in vanilla claude code

I'm sorry, I can't hear you above all the amniotic fluid that you're floating in.
Everyone: "Vibe coding is causing all these security bugs" Reality: PHP, Node, Linux kernel, GitLab. All hand-written code by humans, some of it 20 years old. AI isn't creating the slop. It's finding it 🫠

Do you mean Linux apps can look just as crap as Windows? Amazing!
this is a first pass so it doesn't look amazing, but damn it already looks nicer than 99% of native linux apps our team is going to polish and improve this and finally linux apps don't have to look like gtk/qt ugliness

I wouldn't need to resign because I would never have worked with them in the first place.
if one of these two guys DMs you, start writing your resignation letter

I'll be happy if you're rubbish little bot just did what it was told
forcing you to upgrade to enterprise for sso seems exceptionally bad now this just needs to be on for everyone

I've been a software developer for over thirty years and I didn't need maths very much at all. And I didn't need any of their attitudes because they thought they were better than me. So when a time when my and everyone else's end seems to approach, how about you stop your "I'm a pretty butterfly" nonsense and act like a grown up?
I'm sick of these gatekeeper mathematicians acting as if they own math! He says humans need to understand math, but besides these privileged, self-centered people, how many humans actually understand it? As if they help teach it to everyone! This BS anti-AI attitude has to stop!

They finally sacked you?
the amount of internal tooling is exploding, it must be at all companies a weird side effect is when you switch companies then it's all new tools you have to learn, way less consistency than before but also you can just use an agent to learn about them so maybe it all nets out

The very definition of not free ... as in beer.
Developers will be like, "I don't like paying $1 per build, I'll just buy this $15,000 mac studio so all my builds are free" not an accounting class in sight

Can't work out if this is just him trying to flex again.
my personal accounts are being attacked now too whole new world with ai powered hacking

Agreed. I think he did it better than them as well!
Por cierto, la succión no es una innovación de Tesla. McMurtry Spéirling la presentó hace año y medio en Europa sin tanta fanfarria

Stop calling them elite. Just because they can do one thing better than other people doesn't make them superior in any way, shape, or form. They are crying because they have no mote anymore

Well done for passing back all the praise to your team and everything that they did, instead of being self righteous and sanctimonious about other people's behavior and how they use AI tools.
i remember early in my career wondering why most people missed out on building early internet products but i look around now and i get it so many people fiddling around with "my custom agent setup" and so few using this miracle of a tool to actually do anything

Ugly or shrill? And it leaves it up to subjective opinions. @elonmusk how will this not become a form of abuse?
Going forward, all advertising on 𝕏 will be subject to a reasonable esthetic standard. Advertisers who post ads that are ugly, shrill, strident or overstate claims about their product will be barred from advertising.

Honestly, is this all the scare mongering you could muster? Anthropic and a open AI are threatening people's lives and seeing the end of civilization and ALL you guys can only come up with a security breach? Pitiful.
We had a security breach last night related to a large scale distillation attack that impacted 1.4% of OpenCode Console users We have notified them all this morning via email. If you did not get an email you were not impacted, it was a subset of users who had external providers linked The incident is ongoing so we cannot share more details at this point but we are working with Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google to remediate

I have to confess I thought this was just AI until I started seeing this view. And now I'm I'm ready to accept that this might actually have really happened.
Am I the only one not excited about this?
