But have they actually read the passage in context? Moses and Elijah appeared with Jesus but nowhere does the passage suggest that the disciples were instructed to worship, pray to, consult or seek mediation from the dead.
In fact the Fathers instruction was unmistakable: "๐ง๐ต๐ถ๐ ๐ถ๐ ๐บ๐ ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐น๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฆ๐ผ๐ปโฆ ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ ๐๐ฒ ๐ต๐ถ๐บ." (Matthew 17:5).
The focus of the transfiguration was the ๐๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฌ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฃ๐ฅ๐๐ ๐๐๐ฌ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ฒ๐๐๐ ๐๐ต๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ not the establishment of ancestor worship.
Using this passage to defend the veneration of ancestors is a serious misrepresentation of Scripture, even sangomas fall in this trap ๐ชค .

They will never call you to repentance or challenge you to turn away from wrongdoing to repentโฆ
