ALT A four-panel comic. In panel 1, Two people are standing in a nature setting, wearing backpacks, ready for a hike. The first person says to the second: I've never hiked with a naturalist before! I'm excited. I hope I brought enough water. Person 2 replies: I'm sure you did. Let's go! In panel 2, there's a collage of things they've seen, and Person 2 explains: Look, a red eft! It's a teenaged form of the Eastern Newt. Ooh, wintergreen! Wanna smell it? I hear a Chestnut-sided warbler. Glacial till. Rubble of the last ice age! Panel 3 is a similar collage: This forest seems early successional. Aw, a leafcutter bee with a piece of leaf! Wow, deer poop! Wow, fungi growing out of the deer poop!! And the first person says Okay, but... In panel 4, the two people are in the same scene but they've moved forward a tiny bit. The first person, frowning, says: It's been an hour and we've walked three feet. Person 2, fist-pumping: Three amazing feet!
