That is bad parenting advice.
If you want your child to become arrogant, self-entitled, needy, and quietly monstrous—follow this advice.
If you want your child to be a humble, honest, selfless, obedient, Christian—remind them that their heart is deceitful above all things.

President Bush throws the first pitch of Game 3 of the 2001 World Series after 9/11
As silly as it sounds, it was important for him to throw a strike. No matter what you think of him, that was clutch/badass. Used the regulation rubber as well. Big time...
25 years later and I still think this is the greatest ceremonial first pitch ever

Racists hate adoption because it blows their entire worldview to smithereens.
I know a family who adopted a kid from the Congo. He’s a hillbilly with a southern accent who loves Jesus and loves deer hunting. Aside from his looks, indistinguishable from his family and community. They have a daughter they adopted from Ethiopia. She now teaches at a university.
The “DNA is destiny” crowd has no answer to this except to seethe. Adoption is a beautiful picture of what Christ did for us. That’s why Satan and his minions hate it.

The 90s were awesome.
“John, we need a theme song for NBA basketball.”
“Got it. How big?”
“Full orchestra. French horns. Strings. Timpani. The fate of Western civilization hangs in the balance.”
“Say no more.”

People naturally do better with structure.
Provide structure for your kids.
Kids are just little people.
Help, and they thrive.

You rarely can shame or yell someone out of sin. And when you do, the relapse rate is high.
But you can love someone out of sin.
Love doesn’t mean approval; quite frankly, it can’t stand for sin.
But it can mean supporting the penitent without judgment. It can mean listening to them and praising their good desires. Encouraging their efforts. Making them feel like they aren’t alone. Being humble enough to admit our own flaws.
Anyone can tell you sin is bad. Few work to eradicate it, because loving people is hard work. It’s much easier to yell about their wrongs.
God is love. And in Him is no sin. God hates our sin, yet He also died for it. If you could taste but an ounce of the pride God takes in His creation, in the love He has for us all, you wouldn’t want to offend Him anymore because you wouldn’t even find it a possibility.
That’s how you live in truth. You tolerate zero sin, yet you also love the person enough to see them out of it. That’s Jesus. And that’s the hope we have.

Intentionally depriving a child of her own mother is one of the most depraved things imaginable. The entire surrogacy industry should be forcibly shut down. It is pure barbarism.

Trump lost fair and square in 2020. Only women can get pregnant. The Trump assassination attempts were real. Mitch McConnell is alive. Michelle Obama is not a man. Barack Obama is a citizen. America is less racist than most countries. Police stop crime. Tariffs hurt the economy.

Prayer is not only when things are going wrong, and you ask God to do a miracle for you, although God, out of His mercy, will answer prayers like that.
Prayer is first and foremost communication with the Almighty. We pray. Then we LISTEN.
We praise God in prayer. We lift up his name. We tell Him, "There is no one like you, God." We tell Him, "Thank you for your grace and mercy on my life."
Sometimes we pray just to glorify God--that we are not asking a thing from Him. We just want to magnify His Name.

Worst small group question for Bible studies…
“What does it mean to you?”
Don’t ask what it means TO YOU but what it means independent of whether you exist or not.
