We need a breathing space budget: a Budget that slashes the cost of essential energy, fuel duty and public transport costs, and the high costs hammering hospitality businesses on our high streets.

Excellent this, from @libdemdaisy
Ten years on, we have the worst of both worlds on immigration and asylum. Without freedom of movement, businesses face red tape while losing skilled workers. Restoring it cuts business costs, creates quality jobs for Young people, and helps us tackle the crisis together.

With the budget next week, the Chancellor needs to give British people the breathing space to tackle the cost of living. People across the country are struggling with everyday expenses, and we need urgent action to slash energy bills, cut travel costs, and introduce a VAT cut to support hospitality and high streets.

The Liberal Democrats have outlined our plans on how to tackle the threats from Russia. We need to expand UK shipbuilding, with six new Royal Navy frigates and four new British shipyards to face down future threats.

Part 2 of my visit to Old Swan Amateur Boxing Club , and this one really stayed with me. The coach told me about a young lad called Ben, who walked through that door at 10 or 11 years old. Seven years later, he was national champion for his age and weight, and then went on to box for England. That kind of story doesn’t just change one life. It changes every kid in that gym who sees it happen and thinks... if Ben can do it, so can I. They’ve also built a partnership with the Royal Navy and Royal Marines, who come in every six months to coach and talk about opportunities. For young people who maybe didn’t get the grades, who’ve had a tough time, that’s a real pathway. And the skills they’ve built here, resilience, discipline, grit, are exactly what opens those doors. That’s what a Scouse education looks like to me. Not just what happens in a classroom, but what happens in a community. Which brings me to something I feel strongly about. Our kids deserve an education that works for them, not a one-size-fits-all curriculum that leaves too many behind. That’s why I want to develop a proper Scouse approach to learning; one that values the skills, the character and the potential that places like Old Swan ABC help build every single day. #LiverpoolFirst #OldSwanABC #ScouseCurriculum #YoungPeople #Community #Liverpool

The amount of times this week I’ve had people using AI tell me what’s wrong with their boiler or what they need to heat their house, then repeat absolute nonsense and insist that it’s right. I hope AI doesn’t take too many more jobs.

It’s got to the point many enquiries are being started with AI, often a screenshot telling me what to do. It pulls up so much misinformation from random forums, I have never known it be right yet. It is also encouraging people to send ridiculously long emails for simple requests.

Putin has the blood of thousands of Ukrainians on his hands as well that of brave Russian dissidents. The United States government has become a propaganda wing of the Kremlin.
Steve Witkoff to Putin: You talk so much about my president, President Trump, being a humanitarian. You are a humanitarian also, sir, and I salute that, I commend you, and I thank you again.

Politicians must accept the scrutiny of independent journalists. It is a disgrace that Reform is instead trying to have them jailed.
STATEMENT: Reform UK has reported ITV, its board, and its undercover reporters to the police. Some of the crimes carry up to 10 years in prison. They forged a passport. They directly interfered in elections and almost certainly altered the results. Being paid to ā€œcanvassā€ for Reform in crucial wards we lost by a few dozen votes. They lied to a veteran about their service and left him ā€œviolatedā€. This is unprecedented. The police are now involved. Scrutiny of political parties is one thing. But anyone breaking the law to try and ruin the lives of Reform’s staff, members or volunteers will be reported to the police and pursued relentlessly in the courts. Here’s what happened šŸ‘‡

Our Ā£14 billion emergency package, funded by taxes on unearned profits of big banks and energy operator monopolies, would cut energy, transport, and hospitality costs, putting money back in people's pockets to help with living costs and little extras. bbc.co.uk/news/live/ck1l3dvv…

Tired of hearing Reform are for the working people, plumbers etc. Lots of us don’t vote Reform! I will be out on many cold days and nights this winter repairing people’s heating. I will not be thinking for a second that Reform would help me or my fellow tradespeople in any way.
