Further evidence on why Wide Zone Lead (transport, escort, whatever you want to call it) is only efficient to 3-man surface if...
1. Your PSG can reach the B gap defender
2. You get movement away from POA (see below)
Memphis has built the most explosive run game in the country and much of it has come off these 10 personnel wrap concepts. Proving you CAN run the ball in 10 pers!

Kentucky used some version of Non-Traditional Tampa on 22% of snaps last week vs. Oklahoma. This is a creative field side rotation that I have yet to study.

“You have to do these seasonal evaluations in real time so that you don’t forget about them.” 💯
Been working hard in-
season to do that, when these thoughts come in my head.
Kenny Dillingham said he and ASU's staff met for 3.5 to 4 hours yesterday to discuss its shortcomings in its off-season plan when forming this 2026 team and how to avoid making the same mistakes when constructing the 2027 roster.
Worth a listen.

The more I study Texas State in the run game the more I get impressed by their technique. Not easy to get a 6-6, 350 Tackle to cut off a 3-Tech in wide zone. Credit to @CoachShoeOL and the offensive staff.
Pretty cool sequencing of concepts via West Virginia from this double wide formation last week.
Rich Rod is at it again...

Love the use of the motion man as the wall puller in gap schemes. Great way to protect two back runs from one back presentations.
* Snap point= one yard outside BST ✅
* Throttle down once snap point is achieved ✅
* Get in phase with first puller ✅
Arch completed 100 of his 264 passing yards last Saturday off Traditional Tampa looks. More validation that your middle runner needs to come from depth:

We talk about a full-man spacing for the wrapper. Usually gets him enough depth to identify spill vs. box.
Text book B-block combo here by the BSG/BST.
UCLA is so precise in the run game. Credit to @Coach_Smith61 who I feel is one of the more underrated OL coaches in the game.
“It's the nature of being a defensive coach, you chase ghosts, you think of what formation they can throw out at you. You're trying to prepare for everything, and you need to keep it simple”
Always goes back to cutting the volume.
Temple Coach KC Keeler texted his coordinators at midnight following Saturday’s loss to UConn and delivered a blunt message about his team on Monday.

Great work by A&M's BST tracking the -1 LB in Pin/Pull. One of the hardest blocks to make in the scheme.
First learned it working with @CoachAgpalsa while at NIU.

More valuable now than ever before with some high school players having agents. A great position for a young coach who can accept a minimal coaching stipend. Needs to be part of school budgets.
I’ve been a strong advocate for the importance of having a Recruiting Coordinator on a high school football coaching staff, and I have a tremendous amount of respect for the individuals across the country who have taken on this responsibility
In my opinion, it’s one of the most underrated and undervalued positions within a high school football program
There is a significant amount of work that goes into building relationships with college coaching staffs, organizing prospect information, evaluating players, coordinating recruiting visits, communicating with families and identifying opportunities for student-athletes at every level of college football
Much of that work takes place behind the scenes and often goes unnoticed
I also understand that not every high school program has the same resources, staffing or financial flexibility. However, I believe this is a position that can be incorporated into many coaching staffs without creating a significant additional expense
A Recruiting Coordinator isn’t there to replace the responsibilities of the head coach or assistant coaches. The position should complement the entire staff, improve organization, strengthen college relationships and help create additional opportunities for student-athletes
Not every player is going to receive Division I interest, and that’s perfectly fine. Understanding the different levels of college football and helping players find opportunities that fit their abilities, academics and individual circumstances is an important part of the job
‼️ To all the high school Recruiting Coordinators putting in the time, making the phone calls, sending film, building relationships and advocating for their student-athletes, you have my respect
I firmly believe this is a valuable position that more high school football programs should consider incorporating into their coaching staffs
🚨The work matters, and so do the opportunities it can help create for student-athletes
Appreciate Jonathan Taylor telling the rest of the country what Jersey coaches already know! 🫡👊
"We got football players!"
Lehigh's safety room has combined for 47 Tackles so far this season. Much of it is built off they fit these 3x1 runs.

OL Coaches- Please study what Southern Utah is doing in the run game. One of the more creative tight zone read designs I've seen vs. Odd:
* BSY works to the Point
* BST arcs to -1
Two defenders left unblocked at the POA 🤯
